I agree it sounds as though the police went in feet first at first and antagonised the locals and made jokes of themselves and the friends do know more about other stuff, ...drugs etc, which the police were keen to learn.

but its still the case that the police say that they hold the key to Claudius disappearance because of what they know and are not telling, .

am I right in thinking pope John, that you think that the police have some idea now because of the drugs arrests and that if the friends had said more about the drugs before, that might have helped the police with Claudius case, but at the same time you think the friends didn't know what had happened to claudia and who was responsible.

I dont know what I make of that, to be honest....possible, but I still think that , at the very least, they had a pretty good idea.

do you think the men from hale were part of the drugs gang active in Heworth when claudia disappeared

Let’s not also forget one suspect was put under surveillance, his phone calls monitored, they established where he had been from this and other info Such as the taxi company he used etc. He was arrested for perverting the course of justice and the line of questioning was where had he been on the Tuesday night as he went to great lengths to point out his innocence and how they knew where he had been (the night of claudia’s alleged all nighters)... If they did this to him then undoubtedly they have similar evidence from the other suspects too. I wonder what the sat nav data showed
Do you mean Monday night/Tuesday morning - the 'all-nighter'?

understood popejohn....our problem is that we can only try and work with what we know, stuff that we can see on cctv etc and speculate on likely scenarios.

dont worry...if you see someone leering through your window, it won't be me

I thought the police had found out who it was and the family had asked them not to bring any more, so they didn't.

It could well be !and also a sign of platonic sleep over ?
Them wilting tulips could have been given to her by her latest admirer! Possibly as a belated birthday gift ? Her birthday was 20 days before she disappeared !

You are getting confused .Those tulips were found in her house as you see them in the clip
I think you are talking of Rodney Ballard otherwise known as Yelsha the physic who for about 3 years every Xmas put wreaths on her front door !

Lying is not proof of guilt !
I believe them when they say “ we know nothing”
Probably don’t really want to admit it but clearly CL kept everyone in the dark re new relationships especially if they were very new !
@Popejohn3 I am interested in your comment when you say that you believe them when they say that "we know nothing".
To date you have never revealed that you know the friends well and so for you to say that you believe them, surely this indicates that you know them very well, something that you have denied this far?
In addition, you constantly defend her friends from any allegations.
Would you be prepared to explain as to why you defend the friends and also how you know that they are innocent?

@Popejohn3 One if the most frustrating things is a "Half Story" If you can't reveal the whole story then don't reveal anything at all as it's likely to be considered as a distraction or possibly attention seeking behaviour which is not what is required on a thread that is dealing with a murder enquiry.
I'm trying to be polite here rather than saying what I should do which is:
Provide the evidence to support your claim or dont discuss at all.

I believe in WS terms there is something defined as "baiting" which basically is when someone claims to know something but doesnt elaborate or back it up with factual links to support it.

I think this is what you're referring to Major, it is v irritating and can derail a thread (possibly the desired outcome, who knows?). Mods would be able to advise further if needed.

thank you @HongKongPhooey It has been going on for some time now.
Perhaps the Moderators will Check to see if this is classified as baiting?
