Her father had plenty of money I should think, given his profession, maybe he used to buy her shares as gifts for birthdays and Christmas etc, probably thought it was a sensible thing to do, he probably wouldn't know what to buy her anyway, can't imagine him popping into next and picking her up a skirt etc

Yes but the deposit to buy a £180k house (prob £250k now) would be very difficult on a chef’s wage.

Unless of course she’d inherited but I just have a feeling she had more money than she should’ve done ...

I have an interest in the Stock Market and Trading .. and where its unlikely any details of her investments would be made public I would be extremely interested know which stocks she held

She had help from her parents to purchase. What makes you think she was on minimum wage? Respectfully, I think you are making lots of assumptions here.
I believe the car needed a new engine.

  • #446
Its questionable that a new engine replacement would take weeks

Wouldnt her car insurance covered her for a replacement car and if it did why did she choose not to use it
Curtsy car is given out after an accident or theft I believe

  • #447
Insurance cover typically provides a replacement vehicle for damage caused by an accident. Perhaps whatever was wrong with Claudias car was through wear and tear and therefore no replacement vehicle.
Yes I believe it kept breaking down

I believe it was her second house ie bigger deposit

I don’t think her vehicle was off the road through lack of money, I got the impression it was in for repair. So she walked to work instead.

Have you tried to find out which garage the car was in?
Ive been trying to chip away at this for almost 7 months all you will get is it was at a garage in Layerthorpe and thats it!!
Whats the problem is saying which garage it was?
could the reason be that the car was not in a garage for repair at all but had been taken off the road for another reason

In the Donal McIntyre tv doc he said she owned her own home which was quite some achievement for someone on a chefs salary.. Now if she did own it outright that should be something of interest.

I believe there was a mortgage

In which garage did Claudia's car stay for which timespan - indeed, would be easy to learn of actually. But not in Claudia's case, it seems. Mysteries over mysteries.

PL could have stated, he kept the car as well as CL's house, because he has authority to handle all of Claudia's legacy ("Claudia's Law"). He did not say something re her car, afaik.

Your correct FG not a word and if I remember correctly someone posted a link on here to a social media post where Suzy Cooper also gave the same reply it was in a garage in Layerthorthope.

If Claudia's car was taken off the road as part of a protection programme could it be that her car was in a police pound in Layerthorpe?

I believe the car needed a new engine.

I have only heard this as a reason from this forum can you please provide a link to where this has been officially confirmed PJ

Yes I believe it kept breaking down

Did it? .. where does it say that PJ can you please provide the link

I think its important to remember the police said Claudia had been walking to work because her car was in the garage for repair.. theres is no fficial reason given for what that repair was.

According to Joan, Claudia had been walking to work in the days leading up to her disapearance
so it was days not weeks that she was walking to work.

The dates these investment were made could ascertain if they were in fact birthday or Chrismas gifts.
More importantly the dates and over what period of time investments were made could be important. I would be particulary interested if they happened around any 'holidays' she took.

She did not have use of her car for weeks .That is not to say she did not have use of other cars ie her father’s possibly weekends and or when he went abroad.
More pertinent questions to me: was her car towed to the garage? Was it AA or RAC ?
Was she alone at the time ie was the cig smoker with her then ?
Did this ‘smoker’ ever enter her father’s car?
And possibly even leaving a ‘fresher’ sample of DNA in there?
Bearing in mind there is no crime scene and police were looking for a missing woman in the beginning !
