I hope this time round the police have taken me seriously but I do know why it’s harder for them and not just the elapsed time .

When was the last time you spoke with Cold Case PJ?

Thread has gone a bit quiet of late, just like operation cabin. I suppose we can’t keep commenting when nothing new happens...

Taken a 2 month break from here after rather intense reading of all the previous threads on CL on here from January when I signed up to July.

Enjoy the different theories that pop up every few weeks but yeah it gets tough to keep engaged after a while when you know NYP had just put this case in cold storage and there's little prospect of a significant development anytime soon unless there's a tip off out of the blue.

I remember a few months back when I was posting someone put up an article and NYP said they didn't want more wild theories but a simple confession or tip off to give them more substantial evidence so I'm afraid that's where we are PJ as much as there's excellent sleuthing on here at times which gives interesting analysis of some of the POIs linked to the case.

Are you saying that NYP actually responded to anything on here ? Are you NYP ?
Just asking .

I agree unless we are unable to see from whats available or be provided with access to information/cctv footage gathered by the police that thas not been made public it will ultimately come down to someone snitching or a tip off.
Its incredibly difficult to put the jigsaw together at times it painstaking and definately time consuming ... but its not impossible and there are clues if you keep an open mind and you are prepared to accept all possibilities, look into what you are being presented with in detail question it until you are sure to the best of your ability it fits and where in the timeline it fits, because at some point these detailed clues will come together.

In my opinion we have something much much bigger and complicated here. What do you think @Yozzer?

Suspects won't be charged over Claudia Lawrence '˜murder' - angry police blame '˜lying witnesses'
this article implies that Malyn is accusing others and not the 4 persons arrested .
It’s not fair to accuse someone of lying without proof and if you do have proof why not take it further !?
He also said it’s possible that a complete stranger was responsible but hey you cannot have it both ways !
His stranger abduction proofs to me ( at least ) that he does not believe in the evidence he has on the 4 .

I think that the cctv evidence is poor and has led to problems with identification. Maybe it's time for the Lawrences to sell CL's home and use some of the proceeds to offer up a decent reward, say £100k, for further information leading to the arrest and successful conviction of the key player/s and the rest to go towards hiring a private detective, with a proven track record, to review and investigate the case.

If you remember I did make the suggestion that the Lawrence family did just that in a previous post. To be honest in reality I dont think that will happen.

On the subject of a private detective.. We have heard little about the private detective who said he saw her in Amsterdam, who employed him?
Likewise the siting of CL at Hartlepool marina by Joans friend who knew her from when he lived in York and said boats leave for Amsterdam daily, no ones pressed Joan for more details on the conversation she had with him, what date did he see her, who was she with, did he speak with her etc.
In my opinion these are both valid sitings.
Its a shame we have lost our military man MajorLang who I understand lived in Amsterdam Netherlands as I am at a stage where his geographical knowledge of Amsterdam and militaria knowledge could be of great assistance to me.

IMO DYOR

People off here have confirmed they've been in dialogue with cold case team including your good self.

I'm sure any info is welcome but they're not so much interest in theories as opposed to someone confessing or tipping off what happened/where the body is/at least some motive. That would move the case on a fair bit more than another look at cars/pick up trucks parked by the NH on the night of Weds 18th March 2009 although I certainly respect the length many posters have gone on here to dig deep into many parts surrounding the case which have certainly questioned my view on what happened.

Certainly a fresh pair of eyes won't be a bad thing, how long has Malyn been on the case now. The arrests were over 6 years now.

Get the feeling in another 10 years this case will be one of those ITV crime reality shows Mark Thomas Williams does where he does a bit of speculating, digging and finds nothing. Think there's one coming out soon about Nicola Payne who went missing in Coventry in early 90s but was never found. There were arrests years ago but no-one ever was formally charged.

So we could have a possible sighting of her in Amsterdam in July 2012.
A sighting by a former private detective, if this had been a siting by someone other than and detective I may have been sceptical.

Ray Galloway retired in 2013 so not him but he did go on to open his own private investigation company Blue Light Investigations and Training.
About Blue Light Investigations and Training Services
I see he does not mention CL ... bless him

Well the woman should know for a start !
The police must be convinced that the woman is Claudia and therefore the police should have made it clear they believe the witness is not correct when they say he was 5’ 6” and taller than the woman !
Because we know Claudia was 5’6” !
Well it can’t be my husband / brother / colleague because they are much taller !
Claudia’s friends and family go “ hmm it can’t be Claudia because Claudia is not shorter than 5’6”...confused.com advert comes to mind .

One day in the future maybe it turns out the abductor to be the young chef in the rental near CL (same building?), who got his hair cut in the garden. Who knows? Though the question would remain: why did so many from Heworth and further away lie about things?
