Att An-owl

i think the bus is stationary and the figure is outside the bus surly?
She would have had to get close to the driver at some stage

I agree the bus is stationary but the figure is on the bus.
Any thoughts at all on why we have never seen the full footage of the cam?

The figure appears to be on the bus.
The bus cam is obviously running as the photos are taken from it..
We were shown the alleyman cctv. Why havent we seen the bus cam running in realtime.

Thanks. It's an interesting picture. I'd say the person arrowed is on the bus in a window seat. The bus is on the Coastliner route from Malton to Leeds via Heworth then York Centre. It's the exact opposite route to the 9:01pm bus (with the CCTV) from the previous evening. The morning bus would approach Heworth along Stockton Lane then turn left into Heworth Road and run the full length of H/Rd before turning sharp right into East Parade at Costcutters. The 2 local bus stops are (a) 50 yards before CL's house on the other side of H/Rd then (b) immediately after the church soon after entering East Parade. I'm guessing the picture is at (b), and the mystery person could have boarded at (a). The bus would then travel roughly in a straight route into York and would not take CL's route down Melrosegate

Thanks for that @Eyes Wide Open its all in the detail as they say.
Can I ask at does this route cross the river and if so where

People on this bus route could have seen Claudia from time to time walking to work

@Eyes Wide Open Can you confirm the route is the grey route on the map.. East Parade to York bus station

The grey route looks like it.
1.The bus would first cross the Foss at a large and busy road junction where Layerthorpe crosses the A1036 as it changes name to Peasholme Green and then The Stonebow,
2.Later the bus would cross the Ouse at Ouse Bridge (B1227) onto Bridge Street as it heads for Rougier Street and Station Rd towards the station. The Ouse Bridge is the most central of the three bridges in the centre of York, and connects the two main shopping and tourist areas of the city.

Ok .. I see both blue and grey routes meet on station road, just off this is Leeman St and a rowing club with a shelving launch area for boats. So would I be correct in asuming that from the station road/ Leeman street it would only take a matter of minutes for someone on foot to reach the rowing club?

On the blue route can you access the rowing club from the end of the bridge by any small walkway shortcut?

Surely, if that was Claudia on the bus, the police would know where she got on and where she got off? They would also have made this public? There would have been CCTV from the bus and also witnesses (the other bus passengers).

Sorry if this is dense, but what exactly am I looking at here?
I'm looking at the arrow and can't see much. If this should be CL's head, it looks like sunglasses in her face (would be odd at the time of day). But I'm honest: I see a face, only because the OP said, there is a face. ;)

If Claudia took a bus, why did she tell her mother, she would walk to Uni? Her mother was concerned about it because of darkness and Claudia's safety and offered to pay for a taxi. Surely JL wasn't concerned the first time about this.
Doesn't make sense somehow, if Claudia was a bus passenger indeed.

This is why I assumed the person was standing or walking on the pavement

The photo is clear enough and people must know who he is.
If he is / was in surveillance looks like he was still surveilling on that anniversary

Sorry, but I have to ask: what is a "commandeer bus" and "commandeering" a bus?

To take possession of (something) by force.

Officially take possession or control of (something), especially for military purposes

Okay, Google translation is my friend, but I can't recognize the meaning re Claudia's person/case. Don't mind, I try to follow! :)

I don’t follow the commandeering logic either I’m afraid (and English is my first language)

You are correct @FromGermany - see close up version below. This person has a cropped fringe and does not resemble CL.

I understand we are all at different stages of our research @Jennifersausage you might find it useful to keep a note of my post, you may find it relevant later.

I’m reasonably advanced but I just don’t understand the reference, as others haven’t. But I’ll keep reading
