Imo due to the embassy packet and butt at her door prior, this is someone well known to Claudia x

Im not sure of the date the photo was taken?
but if the cigarette stub is an embassy cigarette it points to some who could have been smoking their last cigarette in the pack and thats why the packet was disgarded too, which in turn would be a gift for the police forensics who could possibly marry the DNA on the cigarette stub with poss fingerprints on the package, given the smoker wasnt wearing gloves of course.

1.We heard of a grey haired mail stood outside the property on the morning of the 19th was he ever reported as smoking?.
2. The hooded figure seen talking to CL on Melrosegate bridge we know was a smoker.. A huge error on the part of NYP not to search and retrieve that cigarette stubb in my opinion

Seems to be well known and also seems to be someone, with 1. bad manners and 2. who didn't fear to leave evidence of having been there at her door recently. (The pack doesn't look like an old one from weeks ago.)

I can't help thinking it's just litter. The house is on a busy main road and only feet away from the road.

Crazy comments. Do you have proof that was CL on Melrosegate bridge?

So, @popejohn @keepitreal. Is left handed smoking hoody man your prime suspect?

The chances are it was Claudia because no one came forward .

Like so many of the details of the case the police have been selective in what has been released to the public. But the sighting was such that NYP deemed it important enough to make a public appeal regarding it, and it is still listed on the Investigation of Claudia Lawrence NYP website.

My previous post was meant to highlight the smoker ..

I believe the photo of the regal packet at CL door comes from Google Street view @Vixey
In this case it can be dated but will be for a certain date within the month that the Google capture vehicle visited the area.
I have just checked Google and it looks like the date was in August 2008 and before CL disappearance.

Can be also, possibly. IF the butt in CL's car ashtray was the same brand, it would have been no litter, IMO.

Very common brand in the north. No way of knowing. Would have been a monumental task to DNA test every cigarette butt in the vicinity of the house and melrosegate bridge. I see your point though. Hindsight is 20/20

We see the allyman with a rucksack could he have been staying on a river boat ?
Can anyone local tell me how far a suitable mooring place close to Claudia’s house would be ?
Perhaps the bank the dogs took their handlers to ?
Did Claudia make that journey more than once which made it easier for the dogs to follow ?

That is right, I previously dated it by the band playing advertised for that weekend outside nags pub x

Any telecoms experts on here?
We know the police used the triangulation method to identify an area (including York University and stretching to Tockwith) where CL's phone was switched off at 12.10 pm on 19th March.
With improvements in telecom technology, could experts model the original signal strength from each mast and, using enhanced processes, be able to identify a smaller search area? Or is my imagination running away with me?

There is a similar photo on the gone-girl-gone blog but I daren't post a link for obvious reasons. The photo is under copywight by the author, who states on the blog she is from York, so I suspect the pic is her own property rather than a Google street view close up.

So I take it you really believe that sighting really took place ?

Maybe because they don't exist
It’s possible but can you give us a reason as to why would anyone come up with such a lie ?
