How about she got into a lhd car soon after leaving her house and no texts in that short time in someone else’s car ( I get car sick as a passenger if I’m reading / texting ) and the arguing could have started straight away .
Did the police check to see if there were any lhd going towards the university ?
Cars going in that direction are further away from the PO camera. Can any sleuths here blow up all cars seen in that short clip .can one tell who is driving male or female, how many passengers if any ?

what i would like to see is the second bus’ CCTV that picked up the SUV moving.
Was the other car still parked outside 46 at 21:37? Does it help identify it?
As it was positioned heading towards the roundabout the LC camera would have picked it up when it did move I would have thought. If we had access to the cameras I am sure we could identify vehicles of interest in the 10-12 hour period

Have you all been reading about Ms Sarah Everard missing in London but already being referred to as ‘complex ‘ case
She is 5’4” blond comes from York and disappears on a Wed

I spotted the headline and will take a look now

I would suspect that the van and other vehicles wouldn’t be known to one another. I see the van as more of a witness rather than a suspect.
We have to assume (for the moment)the NYP did their job properly and that is why the SUV was removed from the investigation.
The other car we are struggling to identify must be key to this? I can’t see why NYP don’t appear to have focussed in on this
Perhaps because they know all about this car ??

In my opinion it’s the lead car which we cannot identify which is likely to be key to. Imagine if she was ordered into a vehicle- she’s not going to think “o I will take my work clothes” where ever she went, when ever she went it was out of choice. On the bus cctv you can clearly see the mans hand look at just above his right elbow - you can see what looks like a rip on his clothing and more skin showing.

Can we see a screen shot of this ?

Couple seen arguing on University road:-
The front passenger side door of the car was reported as being open. Where it may be a left hand drive vehicle its also just as likely that the female was a pedestrian walking towards the Uni and the person that got out of the car was a passenger in the car.

just thinking of all possibilities

Yes possible but since the witness saw the open door I would assume they’d see the driver there .

You could have had plain cloths policemen there too.
So JM and others are involved ?
They would have no right whatsoever to ask the stranger for his name and details and he would be a fool to give it !
I think ... with respect... you are using hindsight.
Up till then CL was just missing.
Just like anyone on WS would be a fool to divulge anything of importance before they tell the police ... I believe the ruck sack happened, the lift happened the couple arguing happened as well as the left handed smoker talking to CL at the bridge .no red herrings just well meaning decent citizens .
Hindsight? A man walks into the pub allegedly with the images of a bag shoes and scarf (scarf I found interesting, did she wear one?) of a missing possibly abducted woman and you wouldn’t ask them to hang about a minute or how police could get in touch with them? She’d been missing days by then as they already knew she hadn’t been to work or in contact. They were all according to George sat brainstorming in the pub as to what could have happened, George had been in her home and knew she was gone therefore Jim would have clearly also, and yet didn’t ask this mystery man for his name or ring the police when it was such a valued loyal customer? Ok Pope John. It lacks credibility to me shall we say. This man wasn’t identified at all? No description. No cctv of him heading to the pub? No nothing despite him having images of Claudia’s clothing possibly. It’s not hindsight. It’s common sense where someone is missing and someone else claims to have pics of their gear.

@LuluR38 agreed it looks suspicious. But that’s it. Nothing can be proven on suspicions. I cannot see where you are going with this - can you explain how this will help the investigation?

Was Jim Jeffries one of the owners of the Nags Head?

Can we not name names. Its in the Websleuth rules not to name people.

Do you really want this thread closed down so close to the anniversary of Claudia's disappearance?

Merely pointing out that it’s odd. Much like the shifty interview of another staff member when he’s asked about Claudia. Perhaps it could have assisted the investigation but alas no one will ever know will they, perhaps it was an attempt to distance Claudia from the pub and further continue the ‘she left for work’ narrative that likely was never the case ... and it’s an opposing view to the car / rucksack on a path theory I see above ... even Peter Lawrence felt the answer to her disappearance lay within the pub and it’s patrons by the time he died. He even wondered had the person bought him a pint in one article I read. How grim.

You’ll find ( IMO) that all NH customers and staff started suspecting one another bless them.
SC said so about her suspicions for one .

The Police - both teams, Claudia's father and many sleuths feel the answer lies in Heworth it is highly likely. However there has to be a path to the event, a logical understandable provable path. She isn't going to take her rucksack to the nags - unless she went on her way home, spent the afternoon and evening there calling her parents from there.

She may have visited the pub on her way home to collect a lost item after a heavy night of drinking or to discuss her trip to Cyprus.

I believe she’s been known to go to the NH straight from work on occasions .
