Out Foxed

New bloodhounds looking at this case - what’s your thoughts on what happened to CL? Old hands sometimes can’t see the wood for the trees - I’d be interested in your take - 18th or 19th?
One of the four or are police barking up the wrong tree?

I'm sorely disappointed that the indications are this activity was initiated merely by atypical results from a standard ground survey carried out by the landowners some time ago. I had hoped there'd been a real & immediate breakthrough in the investigation but to me this smacks of desperation. I now no longer expect any progression in Claudia's case to arise from this work - but I do appreciate the professionalism of those involved & it's reassuring to know that her case still warrants such great effort.

There have been news links in last few days, linked on this thread, stating that it was ALSO new information given since March.

Claudia Lawrence: Missing chef search prompts new information

From the link:
The force has not revealed what led officers to the location but said it was one of "several active lines of inquiry" being followed in the case.

Quite soon after CL went missing there were press stories of her having numerous affairs with married men. I remember her father denying she was like that and being unhappy about the police saying her love life was “complicated”. Was this ever proven? It did seem at odds with other people describing her as a shy quiet person.

Im surprised that Claudia had not been to Sand Hutton (according to her mother). Sand Hutton and Claxton are a detour from the A64, on her way home

if you follow the bridleway from sandhutton road into the forestry, and then come out at that 3 way junction onto the gravel drive there is actually a cctv camera to the last tree on your right. It’s one of those mini green coloured ones, bird watchers use.

I’ve only been aware of it’s presence the last 18 months but if it’s been there longer perhaps it might be helpful?

Im very interested in seeing the location of this camera is it visible from a Google street walk?

It’s sounds as though you’re throwing in the towel ?

Gwenchristie......CL had two long term relationships the last of which ended some time before she disappeared. It is generally accepted she had 'short term' relationships with a number of men. She was essentially however happily single and just living her life working, being with friends and yes relationships with men. Yes married men made a move on her in pubs and yes perhaps some of her decisions with men not great but genuine mistakes more out of naivety than anything else By all accounts a very nice person who actually was very modest shy and didnt realise she was very attractive. In other words far from the way she was portrayed though it is completely fair and understandable that all aspects of her life needed to be investigated- i dont feel though she deserved some of the salicious headlines

I think you’ll find the information was given to police much earlier than March but they chose to release it in March because her anniversary is always going to be in March !?

Her love life should not come into it at all .

Exactly. This was victim shaming at it’s finest. I have always questioned where this information come from in the first place and it’s relevance - the people involved in her murder perhaps?

I think that her love life has to come into it as it possibly could provide a motive for someone to kill her.
All murder victims have their private life examined in fine detail.

Police dig up land close to where missing chef Claudia Lawrence was last seen

Update:
This morning, two officers marked off a 700-foot stretch of land near the gravel pits in Sand Hutton, a village only eight miles from Claudia's home in York.

They dug up a single three foot deep hole, while around 40 officers remained in the area searching the ground with sticks.

pond is drained too, there’s pics in the link.
