That was pretty much a waste of time. Couldn't get any closer than this, I drove up to the sign to turn around, only thing in sight was a police van next to the red barrier. This road block is 1/2 mile down the road from the gravel pits.

Thanks though, gives us a good idea of the location

no

I don’t think he would re-visit I just think as the police do - it’s someone close to Claudia snd the police would suspect him first - so he had to get rid and quick. I think most people at sometime in their lives consider what they’d do with a body. Under pressure there’s not a lot of choice snd you can only go so far without raising suspicion.
Here’s a question - if certain people are found to have had knowledge all along - what should happen to them - should they face prosecution ?

There are a number of charges which can be brought against them, including assisting an offender, perverting the course of justice and joint enterprise. All of which can potentially carry a fairly hefty prison sentence.

Did anyone else think the CCTV of the lurking man looked like he was wearing very loose fitting trousers? I always thought they looked like some sort of overalls, could be fishing trousers?

On a side note

To get away with murder for 12 years and hide a body for so long, I believe there was some pre-meditation involved.

So he could revisit the grave do you mean?

Partly yes but her remains have remained hidden for 12 years which suggests he chose a well concealed spot

Yes, absolutely.

Been past 4 times in the last 24 hours- glad it’s not just me. Even took two different cars and you can’t see anything! However you would possibly be able to see some activity if you worked at the science campus.

Is it towards Sand Hutton village?

@skibaboo - there is a walk you can do, but I’m not sure how much of a view you will get though and where you might be stopped. If you head down whinney lane and park at the farm - the blue is the bridle path- it’s a straight path past some woods and fishing lakes, but then you can head right over towards the road by the lakes.
The gravel pits are on the other side of the road.

Is what towards Sand Hutton village? The road closure sign is start just past the campus and starts at Sand Hutton. There are warning signs along the A64 warning you it’s closed. If you mean into the campus you can drive up to it, but you wouldn’t get through the buildings to view the far side.

Google Maps seems to think the road will be shut until 2nd September. That’s still a week away. It must be an extensive search. I think it’s highly likely they’re going to find something. MOO.

The gravel pits are at weed hill plantation, whey farm has fishing lakes but they are the old brickworks- I’m not sure if I have missed some confusion over this during the day.

The road was supposed to be shut anyway for roadworks, which have been temporarily stopped.
ETA: the cones were laid and everything, it’s almost single track, don’t get all conspiracy on that comment.

I’m 50/50 now - On balance will they find anything ??? More interest is currently placed on what the police are doing than who,s likely involved and what this adds to our theories. Police are searching and no amount of guessing what they are up to will only wet your appetite for further info. It’s a waiting game if in a week there’s no progress it’s a blind alley. IMO

If they don’t find anything it’s not necessarily the wrong area it seems a vast space to search they could miss something. Not quite the same but when searching saddleworth moor for Keith Bennet they could have missed him by a few feet

I highly doubt you’ll get far and be able to see anything.

If people go along here please can you make sure you stick to the straight bridlepath that takes you all the way straight down and finishes at the road.

Any other tracks leading off this path are private land. Thankyou
