If Claudia's case is ever officially solved my personal feeling is the motive will seem insignificant in comparison to taking someones life, and the subsequent ongoing interest in her case.
I don't want to get into other cases here, but when I'm looking into other murder cases I'm often shocked at the motives people have for taking the life of another.

With Claudia, although I think the people actually involved was likely no more than 2, I personally believe there were others who weren't too happy with how things were going, and things that got spoken about after a few drinks. If I'm right, I think it could have given the actual perpetrators a feeling that they were doing everyone a favour in removing Claudia from the situation. Like I say, only my opinion based on articles like this Revealed: Missing chef Claudia's '40 different men' in which friends are quoted as talking about how her behaviour changed after drinking alcohol, and also how she thought going after married men was just a bit of fun. And this one Missing chef Claudia Lawrence's best pal tells of heartbreaking 10-year search where JK talks about Claudia always being worried she had said the wrong thing while she was drinking.
There’s a lot of racy gossip - it sells newspapers. She had admirers, she was pretty, had a bit of class about her and she liked a good time. I’d think if she was in a relationship - she’d be faithful - but between relationships perhaps she was a bit more flexible - I mean if you’re married you can’t have any expectations? I think with motives and women - I’d think if you did a poll - 90% would be jealousy, 5% inheritance and 5% other. I think in Claudias case it’s other!

I. think I agree with you...im just not sure what you mean about. inheritance...but then, I am half asleep at the moment...im also. not sure about. what you mean about being married and. not having expectations...do you mean marital sexual fidelity...to be honest, I don't think it matters as long as both partners agree

You often see widows getting remarried and the disappeared/murdered for the new husband to get his hands on her cash. Claudia was single - it’s alleged she had flings with married men. If you are a married person you cannot expect any kind of loyalty in my opinion.

I think they mean that if you are married and having an affair then you can have no real expectation of fidelity or monogamy from the person you are having the affair with. How can you make, and in return expect, a commitment when you are stepping out on your spouse?.

ah, thanks...I agree with that...I don't personally think that the motive behind this was a jealous married lover. of Claudius...it may have been a relatively powerful man who saw it as a slur on his. status but I don't think so...I think that apart from her serious interludes. Claudia had relationships with men who either. knew. the rules of the game or who were puppy like followers who wouldn't harm her..just my personal opinion

I agree. I think she got involved with the wrong man and got caught up in something that she died for,but not because someone was jealous.
I think she must have known something she shouldn't have and couldn't be relied upon to keep quiet. No idea what though!.

it could be just as simple as this:

if your a rich woman or have some savings and your partner has a relationship with Claudia-A hit man gets paid to take Claudia out.

The 4 arrested may just have been seen in the wrong place at the right time and guilty of something that was more petty but they may have known about what was going on and they could even have been trying to protect Claudia.

I wonder what / who stopped her mother from doing her own investigation? Didn’t she recently say she planned to visit the NH herself and talk to people ?

Hitman and her sounds like a song and dance act. LE don’t put cases to the cps based on wrong places at the right time.

He would have to be some guy for a wife to want to hang on to him so badly she would hire a hit man to kill the other woman!. Takes all sorts I guess.
Personally if my husband was cheating on me I don't think I would want to keep him. JMO

Do you have an inside knowledge of CPS process @Blonderabbit . If you don't then its a IMO comment.
If you do-Please provide details.

IMO I agree with @Blonderabbit on this one. It's MOO but also seems an obvious statement that the CPS won't pursue a case based purely on someone being outside a suspected crime scene, especially with no proof it is a crime scene or with any indication of when and where an alleged victim may have gone missing.
CL could be off sunning herself on a desert island under an assumed name for all we know, there's just as much evidence of that as there is anything else in this case.

anything is possible, but I don't think it happened like that....I think a woman with a husband like. that would be. used to his affairs and have either put up. with it or taken every penny in a divorce...she couldn't have had. every woman shot, so it. would only have been worth it if he'd been really serious about Claudia...to me, knowing what we. know, its unlikely, but I. agree. you never know

perhaps she was warned off like tub b....computer keeps typing. tube...stupid machine
with the best will in the world, the only way it would have worked would be if they could be sure shed. keep it to. herself...so we wouldn't know anyway

Claudia without doubt was popular and had many friends (imo) I’ve been trying to look at her disappearance /suspected murder from other angles. So a childhood sweetheart, a long time lover, even a long term boyfriend. I think if I was in any of these shoes I’d be looking for revenge - I’d be aggrieved, angry. I get the feeling that many know what happened but no one seems to be able to speak out. It’s been remarked in the press about a rouges gallery of boyfriends - well they either don’t know, don’t care or are too scared as there’s a bigger horse in the room! (In my opinion)

I tend to go with the first one … they simply don’t know !

But the CPS didn't pursue the case. We don't know why the 4 were arrested and we don't know what they were being considered for a charge for.
It may be linked to CL it may have been other.

The publicity may have ben to ruffle other feathers as Police do. IMO

I take it you did not manage to visit the area yesterday ?
—————————————-
I wonder if the police are looking at specific places to search for her like they did with the lakes ?
Finding her must be the only way to progress this case ? Imo
Where should the police be looking ?
I bet we all have our preferred spot to search ?
