And who are the three or four people disappearing to the left of the clip ? They must have had a clear view of the white coat man !!
I looked at better quality footage on Youtube that was issued both by police and later by someone who put all the footage in timestamp order. The shirt is 'loose' (though I'm not suring your point in bringing that up), because you see it's outside his trousers - to cover up the paunch. His [black?} jacket? With large [patch?]pockets? is open - It wasn't warm that night. He isn't dressed for the weather. The mistake of someone not local or else pissed up, imho. He could still be a 'helpful' bystander for all we know. We know people have been arrested and then not charged. All these things could be red herrings. I"m not sure about this conspiracy theorists' fantasy that the police have better footage. You can't change the resolution of a camera in 2009. Whatever's in situ is what you've got. Light levels change - tonal levels don't however - so the clothing details are significant. It can tell us who it might be, hwat age they might be, what their intentions or feelings about themselves were. The same might go for whit jacket guy. For instance, many of the cocaine gangs who operate in West Yorkshire drive white cars, wear white baseball caps and jackets and wear white trainers. There have always been these little signals to those in the area - who knew. I suspect hardly anyone in York under 40 can afford coke. But people might get in too deep with the wrong people who want to relive their party years in middle age. It's a terrible thought but maybe CL fell victim to some sort of operation. I have to say I don't udnerstand the euphemistic use of the word 'mystery' about her love-life - or soem of the terribly-vocied articles I've read about her. One was on Medium and it was so disrespectful and tonally off. It was like someone was simultaneously judging her and ogling her. I suspects the coverage of her in the news reflected how she was treated in life - I find it so unjust that her life might have been ended by such people.
Hi I wonder if you can help me with this point please - you say “It wasn't warm that night.” Is this something you remember?
Anything you can remember could be so helpful!

It has been years since I last posted but something has just crossed my mind...

I wished to make a comment on the VEHICLE that travelled up Claudia's road in the early hours. The one whose brake-lights I identified as reflecting in the opposite windows beyond Claudia's home at the point where it would turn into the Pub's sideroad (and also the access road to the GARAGE where Claudia's car was being serviced) I did the Math on the angle and the location the vehicle would turn...way-way back (from streetmap satellite pic and video evidence). So lets presume it DID JUST THAT before continuing...with a new avenue of thought...

A 5am DATE would get one's car fixed faster or cheaper would it not??? Lets investigate.

My THOUGHTS are.... The secret 5am DATE would make the suspect a 'mechanic'... and with Claudia's car being off-road... another vehicle would have been the one used to take them on that ROMANTIC DATE. This missing car would be the one in the video...

I motion to revisit the DOCUMENTS on cars due to to be repaired at the GARAGE/and also the cars owned by previous staff/helping hands etc to be re-looked into. Expect that evidence i.e to obviously not be in the garage LOGBOOK esp if it was a staff-car belonging to the mechanic's "extended family" (not to be ruled-out) (this would be a NEW AVENUE OF INVESTIGATION) .

Evidence would also be in the same missing vehicle...NOT in Claudia's unused vehicle... as that would not have been used as it was again. off-road... and looks dirty (uncleaned... unlike the pristine garage setting (see pic below)

Is this the cleanest GARAGE EVER ??? as it looks like it's been bleached down.

I think the question now should be Where ?
Where is her body ?
Short of a confession there is little chance of a successful prosecution without a body .

I don’t think so, lots of cases are solved without a body, it’s only a matter of time before the NYP stumble upon the final nail in their case and then perps with spend the rest of their lives inside. I’ve no doubt they know who, when and how. Must be hard for those that know to watch those responsible in the community.

I find your statement hard to comprehend unless you mean ‘suspect !’
If they know that would mean someone told them so !

Claudia lawrance owned a Samsungd900 mobile phone - it has an early version of Bluetooth 2.1 I think. It is my opinion that it could be seen connecting to the perps phones at various points until switch off.Bluetooth 2.1 had a range of maybe 5ft. No confession or body needed - it’s not enough to take to court - but enough to have almost certain suspicions

Hi did who ever analyzed the mobile say she had her bluetooth turned on then?
That would be good but who ever did the crime must've had theres on to.

In conclusion to that answer... (the original ~ presumably more-dirty garage) should be searched with a toothpick (metaphor) ... for a splatter/a drop/a fiber/DNA. Or ... actually... for the car they so dearly wish to find... and are seeking. Staff - ex-staff - mechanics. Extended family of such staff who were there leading up to said date. ('forensic lab' as an answer doesn't wash-away all the investigative avenues on the above statement.) Look at it as-if someone there had a 5am ROMANTIC DATE... and THEY returned to the garage... caught on camera. And THNK from that point "How would they then act to cover their tracks?"

Interested in your 5am date theory.
Not heard this one before and not heard any evidence to suggest that Claudias car, that was in for an engine replacement, was either close to Heworth Road or further away.
Please say more about the 5am date as this is interesting.
Also do you know where the car was being repaired and what garage.

Hi Becci, you do not need Claudias phone to see it connecting to perps phones. Bluetooth was a big step forward then, in 2009, people used it to transfer data and also to connect to in car systems, Hands free calling etc as well as some of the early headphones. Of course now most use wi-fi

DYOR. All the best Regards BR

How many garage staff were arrested on suspicion of murder?

I’m not really understanding - I know the difference between know and suspect. If you have overwhelming evidence as a seasoned police officer you know. Some of the detectives who have worked on this case are some of the best in the country. Some evidence cannot be explained without involvement. Anyone who thinks otherwise are kidding themselves. The police know who the killer is and they know who helped. They may be walking about free though sooner or later the crime will catch up with them - even the psychological cancer has probably eaten away at them for 13 unlucky years

I try to follow, but which day should the 5am-date have been exactly? o_O

I don't know if were allowed to post on this but, if we are, without. naming suspected. perps, could people say what they think the motive for what happened to Claudia to have been...there. seems. to. me. to be a conflict between the idea of local people who knew and liked her despite her sometimes annoying ways...and who doesn't have them..and what. I think to be true..that there was at least a degree of local involvement.

IMO Local Involvement and POI's plus friends know. I suspect there was a disagreement re county lines drugs and Claudia got in the way.
It is totally unacceptable for Ruanes, Cooper and Robinson to stay silent and say no comment (Already Named POIs in Media already so no breach of rules)

However, I do think that lack of comment from JK and SC, her "Best Friends" borders on Ambivolence.

I think I'm with you on the general scenario...when you say Claudia got in the way, do you think it was something like an accidental shooting or something along the lines that shed been taken as a hostage or persuaded to go with. someone ...if her mother is correct and there was something odd. about the slippers then I think it suggests some kind of evidence left on them

I have always felt that she was shielding someone.
The person who was seen at her door a few afternoons before with the fringe when she looked shocked at his arrival and looked both ways before ushering him in.

Was this someone from Cyprus, SS?

Was RB who drove from Glasgow with fleet of vans that he was taking to Cypruse via Europe involved?
He said that on the way from Glasgow to the port, he passed York but didn't stop.

Did he stop, what happened and was Claudia taken

Was she staying away from nags because she was with him each evening
IMO

If that is so surly the police would tell the other person and or his her partner that the phones were close together ??
