It's strange her mom is complaining the police won't investigate the alleged break-in but she won't let the police in the house so they can investigate.

Also, why wouldn't she put up a surveillance camera to catch the alleged intruder? They are affordable and easy to install.

IMO All this is to do with creating publicity for the case.

I visited the suburb of York where Claudia lived and looked at some of the streets mentioned in the case.

The street where the 57 year old property landlord was caught on CCTV is in close proximity to her home address.

Also, there's a lot of gutters/ditches/narrow pathways in the area.

I wonder if someone close to Claudia who knew she was having to walk to work followed her as she left.

Or did Claudia ever leave the house alive?

Who thinks Claudia was abducted walking to work on the day that she failed to turn up for work?

Who thinks Claudia was abducted (or murdered and taken away) the night before?

I'm following since years and years, but I don't know. Too many possibilities. Too many suspects. Too many oddities.

The night before definitely IMO

no more news?

Nope. No news. No body, no crime scene, no fingerprints, no DNA. I don't know how this case can be solved. You hear the usual pundits say that allegiances change over time. They may change, they may not. But relying on this assumes that someone other than the murderer(s) knows who did it and has some powerful evidence to provide. Simply saying that Mr X was having an affair with Claudia, or was showing signs of stress etc won't get a conviction. I also suspect that, if someone provides a name, it may be someone the police have already put under the microscope.

It's a bit like the Alistair Wilson (of Nairn) case. No DNA, no finger prints, no CCTV. Finding someone with a motive won't be enough. Failure to provide an alibi for something so many years ago can't be held against someone.

The allegiances need to change first - in this case they have not YET.....imho

Such a shame, I thought things had progressed further recently but now it’s gone silent so I guess nothing has changed at all

Who thinks Claudia was abducted walking to work on the day that she failed to turn up for work?

Who thinks Claudia was abducted (or murdered and taken away) the night before?

Stating the obvious here, but it's a case of probability based upon the known information:

Probably murdered in the morning.

Probably not by the fabled Nags Head Four.

Probably by a lone man with a screw loose (as it just about always is in the real world).

Claudia was highly probably just a normal run-of-the-mill lass with a pretty standard dating and sex life for a single lass her age.

The Nags Head was highly probably just a load of fellas having a beer in the pub, some of them working class (the horror! must be mysterious and a motley crew!) and a bit rough 'round the edges. As opposed to the York arm of the Chicago Mafia making sure people who see things disappear.

It is highly probable that some people in the Nags Head had sex with other people in the Nags Head (not in the Nags Head mind you) and on occasion it will have been with people attached. Happens in every community pub up and down the country. 100% of the time, nobody gets murdered as a result. Whether or not Claudia was involved in all of that? Maybe the odd time with someone she was attracted to, possibly.

Wouldn't bet a lot of money either way in terms of whether or not it was someone known to Claudia. In a home, aye, most women know their killer; outdoors, that's different.

I'd have homed in on anybody known to have given Claudia a lift to work on a morning. Not saying that's the answer, but a decent place to start.

I guess its because these men were arrested ,The police had evidence on them but not enough to take them to trial.

That's one way of looking at.

Another is this: in the event you cannot get a case into a court of law, then your evidence is worthless when it comes to 'evidence'.

The police have tonnes of cctv we aren’t privy to

This is a monumental flaw when it comes to the Nags Head Four thing. "The police have the evidence and we just haven't seen it."

Don't worry about the public; release your evidence to where it really matters, i.e. a court of law.

They did. They released their evidence, all of it, in an attempt to get a conviction. It got thrown out as a waste of time given no realistic possibility of a conviction.

What does that tell you about the police's supposed evidence that nobody is privy to? It tells you that there is no evidence of any significance being hidden from the public.

They barked up the wrong tree.

All down to the CPS

We dont know that she was killed outdoors though! Could have been her home or someone elses home

How d'ya mean? They were clearly as guilty as sin but the CPS don't know what they're doing?
The police have to send evidence to the CPS who decide if a case goes to court. They obviously had some evidence on the four just not enough to meet the CPS threshold. Doesnt mean they were not involved
