I was wondering when the next episode was going to emerge.

This is the story of the Chinese man in reference to what’s mentioned in the podcast and the grave that was dug up and filled with jam jars. I may have misremembered this but weren’t there men of Chinese origin spotted visiting claudias property weeks before her dissapearance ?

The jam jar thing is weird and I’ve never heard of that, perhaps personal items could be stored in them and sealed shut, or it’s some form of ritual in certain cultures?
Also, could be a complete red herring to divert people away from things that have genuinely been buried that they don’t want to be ever found

I think the jam jar thing is to stop people digging any further. Assuming that they dug as far as the jam jars and no further that would be a mistake on the police's part. I doubt they would have stopped at the jam jars but you never know.

Didn't a certain serial killer bury his dog over one of his victims assuming that the police would not dig any further.

I’m not sure , but that sort of makes sense!

Burying a dog or other animal above a human body is a method used by experienced criminals and will be known in certain circles as part of a possible disposing of a body process. A lot of missing criminals will have ended up in the middle of nowhere buried under a buried dog.

They would have possibly had a surplus of jam jars as depending on the size of their operation they are good for storing the bud.

I’d imagine you must have to dig fairly deep in order for this to be a succesful burial to hide someone. The thing that concerns me is that the people potentially involved would have had no issues getting hands on equipment to make that job easier

Not really It’s to stop people digging/looking further so if something looks buried somewhere or land disturbed they quickly come across a dead stinking half decomposed dog and stop thinking about whatever they are actually looking for they stop as it’s “just a dead dog” not thinking to remove it dig deeper or look further. I doubt this used this method. More likely buried in a proper grave then a coffin on top or cremated.

I have been interested in Claudia's case ever since it happened, I did not know there was a podcast, I am just starting it.

I’ve been listening to the podcast as well, and can’t help but wonder why Claudia’s dad and the family ‘spokesman’ came off as so weird. Claudia’s mother said that Claudia’s father was in a lot of debt when he died, and that she had been kept out of a lot of the publicity and not invited or told about important events by those two. There’s something off about them - I don’t believe they hurt Claudia - but it is weird. Maybe it’s just biased, I don’t know.

Im shocked at how much information I have missed, I have been reading on here and there is so much to take in. Every now and again there is a little step forward or a little bit of something, then a dead end.

The only thing I find odd is how controlling Martin was perceived to be. From what I’ve read and seen, everything regarding the investigation had to go through him, the book deal had to go through him, donations, through him, anyone wanting to put forward tips to her whereabouts , had to go through Martin…..he was the one that probably kept Joan out of the loop too …very bizarre.

Wasn’t it hinted that Peter and Martin were potentially in a relationship? It wouldn’t surprise me given their proximity and how much time they spent together. Perhaps Joan
knew they were together and was bitter , and also hurt that she couldn’t really have any involvement or say in regards to her daughter being missing because he was pulling the strings?

How many interviews are there of Joan talking about her daughter being missing before Peter and Martin passed away?, I actually don’t know of any!

Why is there, it seems at least, over so many years no attempt to interview Claudia's sister and her husband? I wonder since a long time.
For example, about debts (or no debts at all) of the late father her sister would know also.

Some people just don’t want any involvement in the media. I imagine claudias sister and anyone associated with her would have been interviewed numerous times simply for a character reference of what Claudia was like and her potential relationships, where she liked to go etc.

I don’t know if they were close as sisters, but I’m sure she’s devastated just as much as Joan, unless they weren’t close or their relationship together was nonexistent but still, as it’s her sister there has to be some emotion there.

It could also be the fact that her sister knew what she was getting up to and the people she hung around with and wanted no part of it, and possibly operates in a background capacity by being there for her mum when she needs her.

I ask myself however if a relative of mine went missing ( depending on relation and how close we are ) , would I want to be filmed and printed in newspapers and featured in interviews?, absolutely not unless it was an absolute necessity that I had to, but I’d do whatever I could and wouldn’t stop until I had answers.

I see it’s all gone quiet again. I always lose hope with this case

It should go quiet. No new information is forthcoming - people just talk themselves in circles over the same old theories ad nauseum.

Until we get a new lead or a confession then what else is there to say?

and yet, legal documents, readily available on line, would indicate otherwise

I have seen online a couple of interviews with Claudia's sister. She looks very like Claudia and had a similar hairstyle at that time. She defended Claudia's personal life and played it down.

You may be able to find the interviews online.

The podcast however is always hinting at new informstion but so far nothing major has come forward.

Yes, I was reading that elsewhere after I posted that comment. I guess it’s just bias and misinformation then.
