Claudias house has been broken into…AGAIN , that’s 3 times now, why aren’t they putting up cameras?

Everybody in York and many others know that Claudia's house is empty. Burglars, squatters and weirdos are a risk. Why doesn't Claudia's family sell it?

Claudia has been missing for over 15 years. I have no idea why all of this is happening now. It makes me feel vulnerable and worried about going into the house, as I don’t know what I’m going to find.

Isn’t part of the problem here that the case has received a fair bit of publicity in recent times and it’s become fairly common knowledge that the house lies empty? Either the house needs better security, or selling.

This is mad - get some cameras or sell / rent it.
I can’t see why turning it into a target for break in and robbery is helping anyone here.

I’m not sure with it being an ongoing investigation they can, it’s still technically a crime scene or a place where there could be evidence. It could easily be more secured however for sure

They can do what they want with it now.
It’s been years.
The police have all they need.

It's not a 'likely possibility'. It is your opinion of course, and you're entitled to that, but some opinions are built upon much stronger foundations than others.

Everything we know about the cell towers in that area, the state of mobile phone technology in 2009, as well as polis disclosure; tells us that Claudia's mobile could not be "narrowed down to a much smaller area".

There's probably nothing more to say on this unless you can demonstrate otherwise.
With regards to phone technology in 2009, I've had a quick look at what specs most phones had back then. Quite a few had GPS such as the iphone, Samsung, LG, Blackberry etc. Do we know what phone she had? Also if the phone possibly had the capability to tell the user where they where exactly, was it the case that the mobile provider or Google/Apple kept a record back then of their movements like they do today?

Considering the police and CSI have gone round again and searched the property once more I don’t think that’s accurate

But was that just because of the last break in? If so, that process could go on forever.

IIRC this related to a break in ?
The police don’t seal a crime scene indefinitely.
The suggestion that a property cannot be sold or rented out due to a missing persons case from 2009 is ludicrous.

Yes maybe you’re correct, unless the police have some agreement with Claudias Mum that while it’s still considered a potential area of interest she can’t sell it ?

I would say the house is the strongest connection the mum still has with her daughter. She might feel selling it would be giving away the one tie she has left.

From various podcasts and articles I think the emotional connection to the house is stopping CL’s mum from selling it.
I can sort of understand that.

Yes. @Alpha Zero introduced me to a really good podcast and CL's mum seems to take a lot of comfort from visiting that house and I think many mums who have lost a "child" don't touch their bedroom for years afterwards, almost as if by changing things, it's like closing that chapter for the final time and facing the truth that their person really is never coming home!😢

I can’t imagine the pain of not knowing where your child is after all this time.
Unbearable.

Strange to only discover the loft space and taapered-with access now, 16 years later. That recent mirror newspaper article presents lots of spurious stuff about 'messages' being sent with a raffle ticket left behind - but if there was a hidden place that's far more concerning to me as evidence/possessions could be hidden. How did the police not notice this loft before?

Also don't understand the number of posts on here calling for Claudia's home to be sold.Suspicious in itself.

Definitely needed to have security cameras put in, don't know why it hasn't. It's obviously at rick to squatters/ morbid tourists and weirdos. I have to back through all the evidence and refresh my knowledge with this case. It does seem like several people are staying quiet about what they know.

I think I'm right in saying that the police did look into the loft with a camera. I'm guessing this is a very small space that's separate from the main loft. Doubt it's of any use now, or then.

There is no way, the Police have any power or control over the property all these years later. At this point she will be considered legally dead. Her mom, probably does just keep it for the sake of not letting one of the last connections to her daughter go. Which is pretty sad.
