Going back to Heworth Place and the alley:
There are 2 cctv cameras in HP connected to the Limes Court properties which back onto HP. One is opposite the alley pointing towards the cul de sac. The other is at the cul de sac end and am pretty sure, given the range of the other Lime Court cameras, it would pick up activity at the entrance to the alley.
So it looks as if NYP know that the suspicious character shown on cctv did enter the alley, briefly.

But why there? It’s not a very nice pub and it isn’t anywhere near her home? Plenty of other pubs closer or nicer. Or was it the owner she was meeting?

I can’t imagine why anyone would drink in those two pubs? And given the distance between them. And it wouldn’t be open any later? It’s common for people to go on to pubs close by or in the city centre but over 3 miles away?

There are 2 cctv cameras in HP connected to the Limes Court properties which back onto HP. One is opposite the alley pointing towards the cul de sac. The other is at the cul de sac end and am pretty sure, given the range of the other Lime Court cameras, it would pick up activity at the entrance to the alley.
So it looks as if NYP know that the suspicious character shown on cctv did enter the alley, briefly.

I agree Yozzer. There are two on the Limes building and if you look there is one in the Limes Car parking area. It was from this one that we know that Dark Person was seen. We have not seen any images from the two sittuated on the Limes buildings. In addition. There is a CCTV camera positioned on the Limes facing Heworth Road that is closest to Heworth Place entrance-This one was not used to show images of the breaking car, but the one a little further along on the Limes building in Heworth road.
I wonder if the wall mounted cameras were either not working or not of sufficient quality?
Police could have information showing far more about where the characters came from and went to and probably why the 4 were arrested. This is why we should perhaps focus around the 4 as the police seem to be doing.

I partly agree Rachel, But perhaps being an insecure person and knowing Nags didn't go there that she liked the familiarity of the place?

I wouldn’t go for a drink there. I don’t know why Claudia would. Claudia must have been close to someone who lived near or worked there? Or drugs? It’s a long way to walk too, would have to be a taxi home. Or did she stay over?

Huh? The Nags is two doors from Claudia's house. @moonsafari said that a group of them caught a taxi to The Acomb. And a relative of one of her friends worked for a taxi firm in that area

Are you sure about Nags friends going to Acomb @Pinkizzy ?
This is actually what Moonsafari says in her Blog:

"Occasionally, they’d meet at the pub (Referring to Nags Head) then catch a taxi to town, or vice versa, and I remember Claudia sometimes visited friends at pubs in Acomb. (Not just The Acomb?)She mentioned more than once to me at least two of her ex boyfriends who she was in ongoing contact with in 2007/8 when I knew her. One of whom she used to meet up with from time to time and, at one point, I’m fairly certain, she was considering getting back together with on a long distance basis."

Perhaps @moonsafari can verify this??

I recall that Claudias mum rang her at 20:30 and was the last call to ask Claudia about a Taxi firm that her mum was enquiring about for friends? Im sure that Police will have checked out Taxi firm given that it would be relevant as Claudias last conversation?

If that’s true, she was a regular there before she moved to Heworth. Where did she live previously?

Given that the police submitted a file to the CPS, I'm pretty sure that they have more CCTV evidence than the public knows of........

But I read somewhere that they knew who the man with the strange gait was and that he has since died.........and that he was there checking properties...... though a strange time in a morning to do this?!

@Brandysnapblue No they initially thought that the Dark Person with Gait was Richard Cartwright Landlord of a few properties that he let out for students in Heworth Place.
However they then changed their stance as the same Dark figure appeared both morning and evening and they still appeal to this day for who this person is and so cant be Richard.
Richard died at an undetermined point and was found three weeks after Claudia had dissapeared-It was publicised that this was a heart Attack.
Being a property owner though, was his property sought after by "Lord of the Manor" or did he know something and did he really die of natural causes????

They do have.
Having examined all of the CCTV cameras in the vicinity, the comings and goings of suspicious persons would be far more obvious and extensive than Police are providing detail of.

Its very much like the case of the Boy with the same surname-Stephen Lawrence. Police know who they are, similar "Mistakes" were being made-Or were they mistakes and the Persons of Interest (POIs) continued, like Claudias (POIs) To flaunt it and "Live it Large" in the same community.
