I understand your fustration but if someone is said to have a cast iron alibi then its not unreasonable to ask for details to corrobate that alibi. When those details are verified from source then they can be put aside.
The devil is in the detail in the CL case everything needs to be checked and double checked
Just my opinion
The thing is the police do not owe us any right for information on here
It would be great and a first if a properly identifiable source on here to speak on the cold case behalf.
You know ... keep us updated on a daily basis perhaps too much to ask because of data protection and other reasons .

Sadly we can only assume they dont have much to up date us on ..with the case now being in a reactive stage.. I would just appreciate more detailed information of the information they have already allowed into the public domain inc updates of things that they are treating as still relevant and things that are no longer relevant and why they had dismissed those things. It would keep the publics interest up
I would settle for an update every couple of months

  • #724
At least tell us what is not relevant
But I guess there are very few on the case now and would not want to have to read all this and respond.

Then you must contact the police because I doubt that anyone in this forum can provide the detail that you require.

What is far more important than Halliwell is this:

Does anyone recognise the two people in this Ford Ranger-This is a daylight shot of same vehicle.
Seen outside Claudias in the evening of her disappearance ????
And it's a much clearer shot than provided of Alleyman .

Can you tell us what you’re hinting here that might progress the case ?
I'm not hinting at anything-I don't know the answer PJ3.
Like many facts in this case I find bizarre. I'm hoping that other Sleuths can cast some light on this. I just find it very disturbing that he would want to move to this area. It is almost as though quite a few people involved in this case feel that they have to stay close and live in the "Manor" almost as though something could slip if they move away and I do not know what?
Wish I did.

As many know, Claudia lived in Thirlmere Drive after moving from Malton in 2006. This was about a 15 minute walk to Heworth Road / Nags Head- She lived there until late 2007 and then moved to 46 Heworth Road.
I have recently discovered as part of my research that a certain Peter John Lawrence is listed on the electoral role as resident at Thirlmere Road during 2014-2019.

This is not the nicest area of York and certainly does appear quite strange.

Could this be coincidental or is it-The PJL???

Hi @MajorLang, I see that on Thirlmere Drive, Claudia would have been only 500 yards from where MS lived in Burnholme Grove. It seems evident that they were friendly for quite some time - living close, both working at the Uni, his giving her lifts to work, and both frequenting the Nag's Head.
As for the PJ Lawrence in Thirlmere Rd, I can't trace such a road in York so did you mean to say Thirlmere Drive again? I wonder if the two records are for the same or different house number. If it was her Dad, maybe he owned it all along and rented it out, including to her. If it was her dad would he be actually using it or holding it as an empty property? Maybe its not Claudia's dad at all and its just yet another coincidence!

Thanks @Eyes Wide Open Yes it's Thirlmere Drive, did you ge the number? It could be another PJL but I don't believe in coincidences?
Yes he could be the owner and it being a holding house. If he owned it and it was rented out then his name would only appear if he was living there

I've just finished Steve Fulcher's book, he mentions that Halliwell knew Huddersfield and York very well. He'd stay in an area for odd jobs during the week and then he'd return to Swindon for taxi work.
I want to mention, that he even went on tours with his boat. It's long ago and I don't remember, where he did this exactly.
Another suspect, I had in mind for some times years ago, was the following one:
Cambridge graduate stands by rapist husband Mark Thompson | Daily Mail Online
What do you think about him? He lived in the area and he worked in the area on different jobs (in his studio and at customer's homes).

Her dad had a decent paying job, might have owned several properties, multiple ownership seems a popular pastime in heworth, at least 2 other people linked to the case owned a few residences

Multiple rapist and all round nutter, but no history of murder

I have very little knowledge of how to use photo editing software but my first attempt I managed to make out the driver was large frame, full in the face, light coloured/ fair/sandy hair worn forward and in my opinion a beard, he appeared to be wearing glasses.
The womens face was more difficult to clean up she because she appears to be looking down she has long curly dark hair, shes wearing a necklace I wondered if it is the type of necklace that bears a name which women seem to favour (not to be confused with the light coloured object against her black clothing) it would be interesting if someone else with better photo editing software and experience could check it out

If I zoom in on your photo and if I'm looking from some distance, I'm seeing this:

A driver in a showy shirt (sports?), sitting behind the wheel and looking to his passenger. The same driver - as if a photo in 2 layers!! - bent forward and looking forward. He seems to have a bald forehead and to the left/to the right fluffy grey hair. He seems to wear glasses. (Arrows for the viewer to have a reference point.)

A passenger, which might be CL (her left arm and neck).

A face, which is looking from the back seat area to the passenger, maybe a woman's face. I know 2 women, JK and SC, and my very first thought was: profile like JK. Don't know, why exactly.

I can't recognize hair/hairstyling of the head (back seat area) and the head (passenger seat).
-.-
If you don't see, what I'm seeing, then it is very okay. I know, that these photos are always different in their appearing. Maybe, after a few hours I will see something other.

I have no photo editing software and I'm only seeing, what I told in my post (written while you posted). Fine, that you are seeing glasses too!

Okay, but he kidnapped a woman in his rusty white van. And he threatened his victims with killing them. Btw, he was taking drugs.

Idk, who the person is, but it could be CL, IF she indeed dyed her hair in a more dark shade and IF she hadn't used the hair straightener yet. Maybe, the hair was wet (darker looking) and because of that curly. - Would make sense also, wearing a black shirt during the dying. Though wouldn't make sense to wear a short necklace during the procedure.
Only brainstorming. :)

Good to know you were giving it a closer look too.. I get two different frames of the woman passenger depending on the editing I choose one shows her face on looking down the other sees her looking sideways to right which may be towards the driver or as you suggest a passenger in the back seat,(Icouldnt make anyone out in the rear seats). Just need someone with photo editing experience to get rid of that windscreen haze or someone like you with a keen eye then all will be revealed.

i suppose that it's too much to expect that Police would do this?
