Early hours-I hear noises at this time and put it down to refuse collection etc
You're obviously not nosey enough @MajorLang! I can't ignore outside noises at night- have to investigate.

The day of the refuse collection was a key issue for me. No idea when it was but 2 mornings had gone when bins and evidence could have been removed before police were contacted.
MajorLang advised us bin day was Tuesday

I agree a lot of people park their cars roadside because they dont have parking. If I heard a noise outside I would at least look out the window to check my car wasnt being broken into/vandalised or been hit by a passing vehicle

You are raising some good points here, Andyboy.
No I said that she ran from the rear of Nags car park and down alley at side of Nags into road. She would have come out of nowhere to a car driven even at 22 mph

  • #325
I find it very difficult to see how a RTA can be cleared up by the driver involved to that extent. There would likely be blood spatter and it would be impossible for the driver to clean that up.

The fustrating thing is there appears no cctv footage from the house across the road to confirm she came out the front door. If she didnt leave throught the front door why would she leave through the back door and have to walk all the way round.
The car could be picking someone else up or merely braking because a cat is crossing the road or maybe there is a parked car or postmans van that its begining see and braking before indicating to overtake. The driver could realsise hes missed a turning as MajorLang has stated its speed was 22 mph. Lots of scenarios here.
The car does not show on the post office cctv or turning around and coming back the same way..
Its possible that there is side street off Heworth road that you can loop around without coming back down the street or going past the post office cctv. But has it hasnt been spotted enroute to univerity by cctv a question mark hangs over its onward route.
Well
She may have left by back door to avoid someone who may have been watching for her and then they caught her in car park. Scuffle, she ran down alley into path of car.
Car could park up afterward sin Nags Car Park so then not seen on cctv until moves.

Yes all people we see hanging around her house could have knocked on front door and or hanged around the front easily seen by Claudia from upstairs bedroom window
“Oh no what’s he doing there !”

David Oxer kept quiet for a year
But why would the Lord of the Manor care, if he wanted rid of her then he would consider this a result wouldn't he, also someone else driving the car exonerats him
depends what the post Morten reveals @Andyboy Cocaine-Big press fuss. Where did she get it. Lords empire gets even more scrutiny. Who supplied her
Nags head under observation
Lots of reasons
Particularly as question would be from police "why do you think she ran out into road-was someone chasing her?"

If this vehicle DID pick up Claudia then there was no intention of taking her to work. A quick 10 second choke hold, turn left at the end of the road and you are away and into the country where any type of holding cell could have been previously arranged. If the driver had been stalking her and had arranged to give her a lift to work that morning then no doubt he had it all planned out. Who knows what these loonies are capable of? Just see the same old, same old time after time ..........." if I can't have her then no-one else can" type of people.

But the car has to move at some stage and I think the police would have poured over cctv of the area for many days looking for it..
I think if they had let the cctv run before and after the braking car we would see other vehicles travelling in both directions on that road.

Hi,

First post here but have been a long time 'lurker' and thought I may as well join the conversation. @MajorLang, I have read your blog and I commend you on the excellent research and work you have undertaken on this case. I do feel, however that there is nothing solid about this case at all. No clear information no matter where you look. Everyone seems to give half answers, if at all and that is even on this forum...can you comment further on the 'scuffle' in the alley? I understand you received this information from the cold case team but what did they say? What are the details?

I have been researching the POI's and there is very little information available, no 'word on the street' nobody is saying anything about them. I can't even seem to find anything about the Nags Head being a hotbed for drug related activity back in 2009 or before or after then. Maybe my sluething skills need working on
The only thing I am certain of is that the police know far more than they have released into the public domain. We can only hope that taking that stance leads to a piece of solid evidence as to what really happened to Claudia.

This makes perfect sense until MajorLang’s revelation of cctv in house opposite help !!

Yes but what about the garage at the rear of Nags head. Accessible only through the car park. Lots of crappy cars in there. What if some were taken to breakers yard on a tow truck a day later ?

There was a garage at rear of Nags Head- Only accessible through Nags car park. Perfect place to store a car for a while then on the back of a removal vehicle to breakers yard

I think the police and search dogs would have been all over those premises and other vehicle related busineses in the surrounding area and followed all the options regarding damage to/repairof/disposal of not just the light coloured Ford but any other vehicle especially knowing the type of characters and activities going on in that area.

Why store a car that close to a crime scene

Especially as she was due at work for 6.00am. For all the person or persons connected with her disappearance knew her work colleagues family or friends could have acted within hours of her no show at work if the right people (SC, her father) had been contacted. Im sure her father would have definately gone to check on her at home if he had been alerted to her absence from work and that she was not answering her phone.

You know that Rodney Ballard drew a crude picture of what you describe above .
Now I do not believe in psychics but what if someone actually saw this and communicated it to Rodney?
