Claudia-I have mentioned the flashing amber lights that reflected in the side window of the house in Heworth Place for all of the time that Alley man is in shot and until after he returns back into Heworth Road.
Cold Case team initially dismissed this when questioned as not relevant. When pushed they explained that it was the street lamp above the window.
But the street light would not be able to cast this "Amber" glow and into the window below. And in the first part of the cctv it can be seen that there is a constant glow of a different light from the street light above (The bulb is not faulty)

My opinion is that it is coming from a vehicle of some kind further up Heworth Road and possibly lined up with the wall surrounding The Limes accommodation.

Today, a street sweeper went through my neighbourhood and cast exactly the same lights.

But what is far more interesting is that the street sweeper also doubled as a refuse collection vehicle with the rear capable of taking refuse from Public Litter Bins on the street.

You can view the CCTV here. Look for the amber reflection in the side window of the house Alley man passes:

But also, you say Man with white jacket and what looks like a carrier bag-The same man who Alley man allegedly "Hesitated" for the evening before.

Most importantly, as Alley man returns and walks towards Heworth Road, you see a car heading away from the Claudias House / Nags head and it can be seen that this car is manoeuvring into the middle of the road so as to avoid the vehicle with the with flashing Amber lights.

If you look at the Amber lights and the timing of the flash, it is definitely from a range of vehicles as follows:

Breakdown Truck
Street Sweeper
Refuse Collection

I am now want to challenge the cold case team as to why they are not being truthful to us about this?

If there are any members of media on this thread. This would make a good story for the anniversary (11 Years) coming up because most likely the police will have something to keep us all at bay for another year.

Is this the same amber light that people see reflected on window of house opposite cL house ?

No- You need to watch Alleyman cctv where there is no view of house opposite Claudias
I have embedded that in my posting

I agree the flashing sequence shown in the window could be attributed to the vehicles you suggest on a walk through on Heworth road on Google maps I noticed green recycle bins and the small black bins you advised me bin day was tues but could these bins be collected on a different day (thurs). You may also like to add a Gritter to your list freezing road conditions are likely in March. Emergency vehicles also have a this sequence but with a different flashing colour so I think these can be discounted

Just to add on my walk thru of Heworth road I notice Speed camera signs, and 20 mile an hour static signs, a red children crossing road strip and large black electronic flashing mile an hour an hour signs.
The large black electronic speed signs operate by detecting and displaying your speed which makes you slow down to 20mph in the restricted zone after studying the footage of the braking ford focus and the location of the this sign it fits perfectly as to why the ford focus braked at that spot.

Whilst freezing road conditions are indeed common in March, that was not the case on the morning in question.

Weather was mild at this time of year and so unlikely to be a gritter. But if it was would it not be moving and pass the entrance to HP. it seems like it is stationary

True-This sign was not of the electronc type in 2009 but it is now- I checked this a while ago

Did you find that these electronic cameras replaced static ones or were there no speed cameras at all

Electric replaces static 20MPH. But yes as you observed the red tarmac was in place in the road.
But was the car not doing 22mph already (Assessed earlier by a Sleuth) So sudden braking would take a 22mph vehicle to a halt

@keep-it-real:
If you check google maps there is a street view from Oct 2009 showing an older style school crossing post. No electronic signage was in place then and not sure a car would slow down at that time of morning for a school crossing red triangle sign. Something caused that car to slow down/stop.

Just a side note here, take it as you will.

I just read Hunting Killers by Mark Williams-Thomas.

While he does not explore Claudia's case, he does include a paragraph about it. To paraphrase, he wrote that if he took on the case, he would expect to fail because he thinks it's reached a dead end at the moment. However, he doesn't think it's unsolvable. He claims with current forensic techniques (not all of them completely legal) and unlimited money, the case could be solved. He thinks a number of people were involved in her disappearance and murder. He feels if enough pressure was applied, the answer could be found.

Also, I'm a big reader and super-judgey. He's not the greatest writer.

MWT doesn't have a great track record, he's just there for the publicity.

I am seriously leaning towards some sort of drug-related involvement. Someone distributing or importing or transporting. Maybe Claudia knew, or maybe she was involved. I just think this goes much deeper than some sort of love triangle/messy relationships/romance angle.

Totally the impression I had.
I've only watched the series on Netflix, about a guy who killed his wife. I wasn't too impressed at that point. My library has a crap true crime section, though, so, I take what I can.

Have you deliberately changed ‘May’ have been involved to ‘thinks’ have been involved . Be honest now it’s not a crime to do so but have you ?

Sorry @Popejohn3, I'm a bit confused. Do I personally think drugs may have been involved or were you referring to MW-T's thoughts in the book?

Thks Yozzer I thought maybe there might have been a static speed camera that had been replaced by the electronic version but doing a walk thru on the 2009 image as you suggested I see there wasnt.

I believe he has made many programmes and I have watched quite a few. I'm sure he was an accomplished detective in his time in Police. Today he is a celebrity policeman and unlike celebrity chefs I'm afraid to say he doesn't complete anything.
