For anyone interested in the white Astra van, here is an extract from a cracking piece of work on the internet, written with great flair by someone who knew CL and worked in the NH. Even if you have read it previously, it's worth a second reading:

Apologies for the length but it is all relevant.
North Yorkshire Police say the Vauxhall Astra they were keen to identify the driver of was parked for at least 30 minutes. Given the direction of traffic and direction the van is parked in, the limited parking space and room to manouevre, the CCTV at the other end of Heworth Road and in Limes Court that films the Ford Focus the next morning, this much is clear: If there isn’t footage of the Astra driving towards that end of Heworth Road and/or past Limes Court’s cameras, that means
1. The van had previously been parked in the Nag’s head car park or turned around in it. Did they enter the pub in between?
2. The van had turned around in the courtyard area outside the Nags Head, right in front of the windows
3. The van made that turn at the traffic lights at the Costcutters end of Heworth Road and did a 180 before coming into far view of the main road camera at the other end of Heworth Road
4. The van was parked in the driveway or garage of a house on Heworth Road. If parked further out in grassy areas perhaps bus CCTV would have caught it. Owner/renter of the car could live at the address, or could be a friend etc

How her disclosure was relayed is a real sticking point its complicated by the fact that mobile companies only retain retain message for a certain period of time so the retention of the text conversation between CL and Dan could well have expired. She could of course had a verbal conversation with him in this case there would be no proof other than his word
In the programme missing or murder the narrator says police believe C|L had a casual boyfriend at the time but the lover of the nite of the 16th was someone else. Do you think there were able to trace this person and eliminate him thats why they were able to state this fact?
Im always confused on the forum when people are talking about boyfriend ..whereever possible if people could be a little more precise ie reported boyfriend or reported mysteryman/lover of the nite of 16th I would appreciate it.
I think this whole conversation with DO is interesting.

Look her friends were adamant Claudia was single.But the police soon found out she had a casual boyfriend with sex thrown in.I believe he went to the police on his own accord . Now Dan was told by Claudia she had a boyfriend and it’s clear she did not tell her close friends .
Now Dan would not know if Claudia was talking about the casual boyfriend or a new mystery boy .
And because the police had established she had a causal boyfriend for at least 2 years we have to assume she was referring to someone new i e the mystery boyfriend.
Likewise David would not have known who she was referring too .But looks like she was imparting news to him ( David)

Dan was told by Claudia she had a boyfriend and it’s clear she did not tell her close friends .
Now Dan would not know if Claudia was talking about the casual boyfriend or a new mystery boy .

DW was told by CL about her having a boyfriend in October 2008 so this can't be the 'new' one DO was referring to re night of 16 March 2009.
The evidence around boyfriends is problematic IMO because it is anecdotal, because women strategise to deter unwanted attention and because her private life was shrouded in mystery. Not to mention, no-one wants or dares to speak openly.

That is another possibility! The difficulty with anecdotal evidence.

Just an obsevation but I noticed that Claudia appears to wearing sunglasses when shes seen posting the letter, I wonder if this was ever noted and if this particular pair of sunglasses were missing when they searched the house... perhaps they were also in her rucksack?
I understand her friend Jo gave her a lift on this day was Claudia wearing sunglasses when she picked her up .. if she was she may also be able to confirm the style of the glasses.

What was the timetable for the bus at that time of the night, one an hour or more frequent (or even going out of service at 10).

I presume not given it seems a busy road and covers a few areas so buses CCTV after that one released and then in early hours of Thurs 19th would show if the vehicles of interest were still there or had gone.

Again must be a reason why that particular Bus CCTV at that time was released and we're giving it a good go on here!

Police advised that the Black SUV outside her house left the area at 21:40

They make it a little bit more entertaining though don’t you agree ?

Does anyone know what type of work Dan does.. Does he drive a white van?

he was alleged to be an independent financial advisor but wasn't licensed and operated under an umbrella licence. He was more of a labourer then an IFA though

Hi Major, it's a question which passes through my mind too, although it seems an extremely long shot.

On the C5 documentary of 3/12/19, the times provided are 1430 left work, 1450 posted letter, 1510 seen in Heworth by Linda Chapman.
On the programme, Claudia's dad reviews the CCTV footages of CL on her journey home on 18/3 and says "that's Claudia just walking out of her place of work......", and then for the post box scene "someone who looks very much like Claudia has just posted a letter......" Why the different choice of words?

If you're thinking of a switch by CL and an imposter friend there should have been a lack of recognition by the lift-giving colleague described by police as "Jo", who for some reason is not mentioned at all in the C5 documentary.
Alternatively, if you're thinking of an official operation maybe to catch a suspected stalker, then the story of the lift by "Jo" would have been invented.

This all seems very unlikely to me but who knows?

Then if a lift wasn't given Jo would be the one lying as she will ha e been the only person able to volunteer this info. For those of you who haven't seen the Labour MP Jo Cox case. It is strongly alleged that the person caught murdering her and then interviewed was identified by friends of the accused as not the accused.
The police interview of the person shows that he sat and said NOTHING for the whole interviews not even a No comment and it is believed that the reason for this is because is the was a doppelgänger but with a facial blemish that was different l, the voice would have given him away. It is believed that the person eventually accused was stemmed up in a cell whist the Patsy was interviewed.
Was the person with sunglasses at the post box a Patsy and was the lift ever given by JO?
Did Claudia go home that afternoon or somewhere else?
Did Linda see who she thought was Claudia?

Did Claudia jump into the Red van seen passing the postbox.
