I don’t think that’s fair 1000’s joined in the hunt especially on social media !

Not anyone that mattered, police said people were holding back information and obstructing there enquiries, seems to me if the locals were as concerned to finding her killer as the people on websleuths are, then the case would have been solved years ago

I'd happily chuck in a good few quid to some sort of crowd funding scheme so claudias good friends can clear there name by way of a lie detection test, not sure how many would volunteer though

I bet most will be happy to as long as they do not ask questions like have you ever cheated on your wife ? Have you ever bought contraband cigs ? Etc etc
I think the police tried to solve her disappearance as well as ALL minor crimes ( minor when compared to possible murder ) all in one big swoop ! Ended up solving nothing ! So far that is !

Oh poor them. Did the big mean police try to stop them committing criminal acts?

It was inevitable with this 'rogues gallery' of interviewees that other issues would surface. And when the time comes, police will offer deals to some of the minor players in return for information that will nail the perpetrator/s.

Exactly! It had been made very clear by Police that a significant number of people within CL social group didnt assist in interview and/or openly and willingly offer information to the investigation.....to my mind there is only one explanation as to why... to deflect focus elsewhere and to ensure they didnt accidentally reveal information that may lead to the truth,,if you are holding a secret it's best to say as little as possible.

Police arrested poi with clear intent to explore what they may know about CL disappearance....no more and no less.

Not heard that anyone used private investigators, be interested to know if family or friends did.....I also wondered if Police used covert surveillance within this investigation

Could have Ben a deliberate overdose and crushed in a car at a scrapyard or cremated in the borough of her old home town.

Did anyone figure out who the Cuban haz was? And did NYP manage to speak with him in person?

@Vixey I believe the long trod theory was that the "New Boyfriend" was Cuban but lived in the greater Manchester area and a sleuth on here was heard singing the Kirstie McColl song "There's a girl comes in my chip shop thinks she's Claudia" and like Claudia keeps putting the same dime in the juke box and playing the same tune

Perhaps like Kirsty the rumour may be thwarted by a speedboat?

Regarding the black guy seen on the Co-op CCTV footage who said he had some info on the case, what's the situation with him? Was he found and cleared?

Other members are correct when they say the NYP website may not always be up to date.
So checking what is still live saves wasting time researching a subject that may have already been identified and eliminated.
I understand we are all at different stages of our interest and research into people vehicles cctv etc in this case. Like you I thought Tang Hall man bore a resemblence to MAFT so I decided to look much closer. I was looking for a possible id match for Tang Hall man and came across MAFT not the other way round.
Whoever Tang Hall man is he openly said he knew or worked with CL the police want to identify and obviously speak with him. Maybe hes a missing link to other people that may be more known in the case.
They are looking for an ID not a persons MO at this stage.
