Att @Jartykarate you’ve commented ( in other cases ) that social media could be killing the chance of a fair trial .
And I think I agree with that to a degree .
Question for you and everyone else here :Would we have to declare interest in this case ( cl case ) if any of us are ever called to serve as a jury member ?
Clear answer would be No, I don’t think anyone would. I was selected for jury service, after a few weeks jury reached a verdict. Though awful,I would love to do it again.

Would certainly be interesting, but if authorities found that any of the jurors were sleuths on this thread I think it would result in a mistrial, although on the off chance I nominate the major as foreman, so he can have the satisfaction of saying guilty lol

It would be difficult after 11 years to find people who had not heard of the case but for sure I would never be picked to serve as a juror or you Pope:)

i would love to nail who did theirs @Andyboy as I'm sure you would also.
It's the injustice that gets to us all after a while.
Whatever she did or didn't do, she wasn't bad and had the rest of her life to live.
I only hope that if she had lived she would have soon worked out who her true friends were as the Nags Head Lot were not good for her.

Also, I would want the Judge if trial to be scrutinised and take an oath to say they were not a Mason. so one sided that I would have to take an oath to declare I was telling the truth but a judge doesn't have to take a Masonic denial oath???

I think you would have to declare that you spent time on WS discussing the case and you would not be allowed to continue
But a legal opinion would help anyone ?

And some kind of message to this effect ( to move away )was probably coming loud and clear from her family who knows...if she had listened !

I’ve done jury service a year ago and have to say I was impressed by the way things are handled !

Is the NH still going as a pub? Obviously, I know it won’t be open at the minute because of COVID-19 but wasn’t there some talk of it actually closing down in the not too distant future? It’s the type of pub that is closing all over the country - a bit out on its own, a bit old hat, a bit behind the times. The idea of a local pub is dying out in the U.K.

Was the same crowd still frequenting it as of March of this year? Clearly it has been through at least one change in management since 2009 and the old culture of lock-ins has presumably ended. The bond between landlord and that crowd is thus presumably a lot weaker?

I ask because if the old crowd has broken up then presumably you might think that some of them might be a bit more forthcoming re: this case if they are no longer all seeing each other regularly?

I’m sure the locals and the major can answer this one !

Sounds like they're raring to go. Delivering roast dinners to your door. Hard not to be tempted I suppose.

Maybe a local will add it to his portfolio of local premises

Police investigate Claudia Lawrence "psychic"

You know when the full story of CL is written I hope there is a mention of Rodney Ballard .
He was often insensitive but at least he kept her name in the papers.
And that pencil drawing of her in the perpetrator’s car( although it was perceived as very insensitive ) could come back to haunt people !

Nags Head - Heworth
I went there last year and in the day didn't recognise any of the locals or POIs present.
It was mentioned this year that it was closing and now has a new landlady who is in PRs FB friends group so perhaps she is working for him.
With all of his property speculation in Heworth, I can't see him letting it close and as he now owns old Tommy's house next door I wonder if he has grand plans to extend and install his long term Moll as Head barmaid and hostess.
A bit like Dirty Den of Heworth.

I was exploring the NH FB page earlier to see if CL was remembered CL on the anniversary of her disappearance. Below is their only post on the 10th anniversary of the day when she was last seen. Nothing on the following day and more food related posts on the 11th anniversary. As if she never existed.

Attached is also a post by Jim re. pub licence renewal 2019-2024

We go to York pretty regular and always fancied nipping into the NH to get a feel for the place but thought it might be a bit macabre. Especially with the house only a few doors away, I do think it would give a better feel of the local area though but then my knowledge is not going to solve this case so not really any point. Suppose I'm just nosey and would hope to get a gut feeling about the locals.

I dont ever think this will be solved if I am totally honest, but I suppose stranger things have happened.
