Meant to say, you can tinker with the publishing dates/times as well when blogging if you're the admin. - so there's no guarantee that the dates of so-called posts are correct. They could have been added later and back dated.

Bit of straw-grasping going on here by me - I need my bed and sleep!

Alter ego I suspect. Have just been browsing through that 'And Beyond blog' and it's very much a 'work in progress'. I have a blog and would never go about things in the haphazard way IS has - apart from one 'post' it has his touch all over it - and should have been kept in draft while he played. You just don't go public with a mess like that, he certainly is no 'IT expert'. There are random letter combinations when it seems he could have been seeing how the layout would look, thoughts about spacing are typed here and there. There could well have been some input from Helen as some of the better writing (what little writing there is) has her touch and perhaps she was quite involved.

But, this is the bit that almost made me weep: http://sykic.co.uk/andbeyond/2016/01/29/wedding-fever/

Wedding Fever!

January 29, 2016 by Ian
It’s all go here at Hartwell Lodge, as young couple Ian and Helen plan their super stylish London nuptials. And Beyond has discovered that the keywords for this uber-glam couple are: chic, elegant and Metropolitan as befits this film-star and his dowdy menopausal woman.

God knows who referred to Helen in that way, possibly her with her self-deprecating sense of humour - but I hated reading it anyhow.

Found this as well on that website

"This is just a test post to see how things work on this blog that my super duper man has organised for me. So now I am just going to write rubbish, which some people might say I do anyway, so really that isn’t a change from the usual."

Made my heart sink. I can't see Helen having written that. How could he speak so low of the woman he supposedly loved and have planned to marry. Disgusting man.

I know this has been posted before, but it will be so far back on this thread that I thought I would link it again, for anyone who has not seen it.
I have posted snippets, full article at the link

I left Highgate Village (N6) for Royston on the North Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire border on the 31st July, 2013. Having lived in London since 1982 (came from Northumberland to college) it has been a big culture shock.

I doubt that I would ever have left London had I not been widowed in 2011, met a man from this area and been seduced not just by him, but by the open space, ease of parking and house prices up here compared to London.

I do like Royston and the community spirit is wonderful. but oh how I miss London and I think that I always will.

My partner and I both felt that it was important for his sons to have as little disruption as possible, but just as we moved into the big family house in Hertfordshire (only a couple of miles from their previous family home), they became much more independent and so now, two years after I moved, it's apparent that we could have bought somewhere in London for us and somewhere in Cambridge for them. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

I can honestly say that I very much like living here. But I LOVE London and I miss living there

Been following the case since the beginning but am yet to post.

I wonder if the Zopiclone in Helen's system affected her ability to drive and therefore her confidence driving? Especially if IS had been drugging Helen in the morning - presumably this would be the worst time for the medication to be given as it causes drowsiness - this would have been awful for Helen trying to go about her daily business, trying to complete errands etc.

As well as being tired she may have also been suffering other common side affects of the medication - brief internet search picks up a few that would making driving a car and making your way around difficult - Lack of Co-ordination, drowsiness, confusion, amnesia.

I hope Helen and Boris get justice.

It would definitely affect her ability to drive. Just think of some of the issues she described - sitting at her laptop and not knowing if her hand was hers, leaving the beach and forgetting Boris, and being unable to walk off the beach because she felt like a strong wind was preventing her from leaving... Now imagine having issues like that whilst driving. :notgood:

Isn't it strange how he never mentioned to the police that she was having these health issues. Anxiety. Not drowsiness and forgetfulness. Oh no. That might point to something untoward. There is no reason that she would have told her mum and brother, and not him.

I think IS envied Helen and what she had built for herself - not only in financial terms. I think he envied her talking about her first husband in her blog and had very little regard for what she had to say about him.

He wanted her emotionally and physically weak and needy so he could pounce.

Seem he well and truly gaslighted her along with drugging to achieve the desired affect.

I very much doubt he helped her with anything she had anxieties about - instead he played on them, he used them to his advantaged. He manipulated her.

I wonder if at any point Helen had thoughts of getting out, or if the wedding was a way of 'trapping' her - emotionally rather than financially. Once you have a wedding booked or planned he may have played the 'How are we going to tell my poor, sick Mother/Father that its now not going ahead' - I wonder if Helen had raised questions about whether it was the right thing to be doing and whether he had shut her down - he seems like that kind of man.

He seems to constantly be portraying Helen as this over sensitive, anxious woman - as if it is a bad thing. The impression I get from reading her blog is that she was a strong, intelligent, independent, kind, generous, woman that wanted companionship but also liked her independence.

I think her problems started being with him as a byproduct of being gaslighted. He made her doubt herself - her ability in everything she could do - her level of sensitivity when he took the mick out of her - maybe it was just he had a different sense of humour to her first husband? Is that what she told herself? Is that what IS told her? She was no longer in London and didn't feel so comfortable. Did Helen feel isolated from everyone she knew?

So much more I could touch on but it really seem like he got into Helen's head and he probably manipulated her so much that she felt she could never get better any better than him and that's why she stuck around - when we all know the truth that even if he had not what he is alleged to have done that day - she could have done far far far better than IS and got herself a kind, gentle, intelligent man that would have contributed to the household and provided emotional stability to Helen that she so desperately wanted and would have reciprocated.

People are asking what Helen ever saw in IS. Obviously no one will ever know but its becoming clear to see a level of abuse on his part and I think this important. They met when Helen was at a vulnerable point in her life and IS would have known this - most abusers can quickly see weaknesses especially in someone as kind, open and honest as Helen. The reason that woman stay in relationships like this is because they are gaslighted by the abuser (IS) into believing that they are the one with the problem - and that they may never find any one better. She was also very isolated, working from home most of the time - was she able to confide in friends and talk freely or was IS always there? We know that Helen had financial means of leaving but I think emotionally she was trapped and maybe felt loyalty to him.

So far I cannot see anything but guilt. How can he claim no guilt when:-

Helen and Boris were found in the pit.

There is evidence of sleeping drugs over some months in her hair and he clearly states she would not take medicines or go to her doctor for help with her stress. It is a drug he has been prescribed.

There is proof he had Helen's phone in Broadstairs

He attempted to move money from Helen's account to his (3 attempts)

Off with his head!

Agree

Discovery of the concealed body of itself should send him down

Has anyone else seen IS's weird invention videos on You Tube? Here's one...

At least he'll have a hobby when/if he spends the next 20 years or whatever in jail, hah! He can build his wave machine too.

Very well described and an inspiration. I am going to attempt to build one with 16 pendulums.
Is the length measured to the centre of gravity of the weight (bob) ?
I intend to use quite large discs so this will make a difference.
Will also be using two strings to each bob. Is the length the vertical distance or the length of the strings ? If that makes sense

Thanks again

I've just listened to the 999 call and IS aka Big Bean just sounds English to me. Most home counties people sound all the same to me. Can someone explain his accent, is it dreadfully "common?

What's the saying ... "ne-cess-ity is the mother of invention"?
Then of course there's The Pit and the Pendulum ...
Greetings all, and sorry to make such (un?)funnies in my inaugural - i mean newly reg. post :-) I could have sunk lower still, but thought i'd spare us for now :-)
I appreciate those finds of IS web stuff though, as they fill out the general psychological impression - of creepiness (technical term :-)).
A good weekend to all, peter

Welcome to you Peter, lots of discussion and info here. Yes lots of concerning stuff coming to light about his character.

The more and more I read about him the more I wonder about how he has got through life. From what I can see it's been about latching on to one woman and then another who can look after him.

Unless anyone here actually knew Helen or Ian well, in real life (what happened to the friend of Helen who appeared earlier? P something username?,
Anyway, think it's impossible to say 'what did Helen see in him' or 'Helen wouldn't do or say xyz' ...
We should also keep in mind that both victim and accused are human beings, no one is 2 dimensional ... I'm sure Helen might have been difficult to live with and I find it hard to completely ignore the fact that Ian has been described so favourably by his ex in laws and others commenting on his character ...

I've wondered if he ever did plan to actually murder Helen. I've wondered if his plan was just to slip her the sleeping pills for as long as it took to get Helen to give him control of her finances ... the day that Helen died seems to have been so chaotic that I find it hard to believe that that part was planned ...

You think he might have killed her by accident with too many pills?

But isn't that just as bad? Wouldn't he have had to have kept her in a drugged state for him to continue managing her affairs? As once he stopped the drugs, helen would eventually regain a clear mind and surely take back control of her finances. I can't see she would have allowed him just to carry on, once she was able to manage them herself. This is all allegedly and theoretical of course.
