yes it was annoying showing up in bleak st albans in a bleak court building only to find out that the thing is adjourned because one juror was sick. and particularly annoying for the family I would say given they made the effort to come too. Nobody gave them a courtesy call to let them know it was off.

I was so disappointed that they weren't able to proceed today... the people involved must feel that multiplied many times over.

In fact as I had missed the whole weekend of comment on here, being away from my PC and an antiquated person who still hasn't got a smartphone, tablet or laptop, I read all those posts today and am very grateful for all the new thoughts and useful recapitulation, timelines etc - brilliant.

She died of a brain aneurysm.
She died unexpectedly, is what I meant, in a way that came out of the blue to her family.

If he would talk to anybody wonder why he didn't have much to do with her family and friends.

Did he have much to do with his own family and friends, come to that? Has he even got any male buddies? He strikes me as something of a loner, when not with family, holed up working on solitary pursuits like computer stuff or making another clock hand.

How I know he went to uni, is because I have been following the trial evidence! And if you don't recall, one witness was a friend who first met both IS and DL when they were at Salford uni.

It's pretty stupid to kill someone for money and think you can get away with it by sticking them in a cesspit, as if you are never going to be found out, as if that cesspit is not going to be drained in your lifetime, as if you are not going to become a suspect yourself as the last person to see her alive etc etc. These are not the actions of an intelligent man. Whether he went to university or not (and I don't know how you know that) is neither here nor there really.

I agree that whether he went to university or not is beside the point, but there
is a strange mixture of intelligence and stupidity here: he can't be stupid if he gained the confidence of an intelligent woman like Helen Bailey, it may be clever to get a body into a cess pit and hide it for three months, but it's stupid as you say to imagine you will never be found out - and we are realising that he began to be found out very quickly, even though this wasn't publicly apparent.

I think it is in the evidence given by a friend of ISs wife - she said they met at Uni

Do you know what he studied?

His motto- One Life, Live It.

Except he appeared to only apply that to himself in the end.

I think it's rather odd to use an acronym that isn't widely recognised. It suggests someone who wants to create intrigue. Why not write it out if you want people to know that is your motto.

It's the same as his handle Sykic. On two of his sites we looked at yesterday he'd set up a FAQ page, and one of the FAQs he'd set up was 'What does Sykic stand for?' He hadn't input any of the answers as set up was never completed.

He thinks a lot about creating impressions IMO.

That's awful.
Will you go again tomorrow?

Agree. I know plenty of folk from uni who aren't the brightest...

Statement from Pamela Charles, a friend of Stewart's

There’s a statement from Pamela Charles, who is a friend of Stewart’s.

“I met Diane Lem (Stewart’s previous wife) and Stewart whilst at Salford University in 1981. They started a relationship and later married in 1986, I was a bridesmaid at their wedding.

“In June 2010 Diane died. After this I kept in regular contact with Ian but this did die down after time went on.

“I recall a conversation the couple had about remarrying if either of them died, Ian had said he hoped to remarry at some point.

“Around a year to 18 months later Ian told me he had met Helen, and I thought this was good for him.

“I invited them both to my 50th birthday in early 2013, but they declined.

“I became friends with Helen via Facebook, we never met personally but we would like each other’s posts and make comments from time to time.

“I knew that Helen’s first husband had also died.”

It's on a FB group memorialising the woman, set up by her sister.

I saw on the memorial page it was SUDEP and they still had a lot of questions about it....

She doesn't actually say either of them were at Salford uni. She says whilst she was at Salford uni.... could be they were just in the area or I'm picking at the wording too much...

No, Duchy, I don't, just going on the statement in court as above. Probably IT?

Given his age, it is also possible that he read a different subject, possibly something technical, and like many, he turned to IT because IT was developing in his field.

I have always felt a university degree tells you very little about a person's intelligence - only their ability to pass/scrape through some exams!
