I'm not sure much of Helen's wealth was sat in her Paypal account...

Mmmm.

remember he said he transferred to O2.

He responded on June 17 by email. He said ‘Whilst I was transferring to O2 was carrying two phones. I lost my old phone, I don’t even know the number of the SIM. According to the ‘find my phone’ app, it’s off, I’m sure it will turn up’ he told us.
“He said the last place he remembers having his phone was in Cambridge.
“We never got that phone.”

Busted! How have they overlooked that , or perhaps nobody updated DC Whalley

Thanks everybody for keeping us all up to date, plus insights...This is better! I've tuned in just in time for the lunch break, I expect.

IS just appears more and more clueless - did he really think the police wouldn't closely look at the tech used at any of Helen's residencies?! By removing the router and factory resetting it is highly suspicious - but so stupid that he simply removed it from Broadstairs and then put it in a box in Royston!

remember that record log of all his questions to IT support , he needed help in every step of setting up the new blog despite the template and his use of the Youtube tutorials.

He is clueless. Only skill is totting up £££££

One of life's wasters it seems...maybe he'll take some further tech courses at Her Majesty's Pleasure...

Officer completes evidence

DC Whalley is now being cross examined by the defence. The router found at the Royston house (previously the wireless router at Broadstairs) was in a box in the study, ready to be seen by anyone, he confirms. He confirms that if the wireless router was used as an extender in a house (to provide further wifi coverage in a large house, for example) the factory settings would need to be reset. That’s the end of DC Whalley’s evidence.

Was that on or after April 18 he was doing that? That is a big oversight.

Author's iPad used to search 'tiredness'

The next witness will be Detective Constable Graham Paul. DC Paul went on June 7 2016 to carry out a radio frequency survey in Broadstairs. “While I was there I was asked if I could see the router that had previously been examined. It wasn’t there”, he said. DC Paul also examined Helen Bailey’s iPad. “On April 8, there were various searches which seemed to relate to tiredness. “We reviewed the iPad to see what could be found. “We can search the download of the device, we can run a key word through it to see if that word features on the device, or we could look at a particular time period.”

Tiredness featured in conversations

“We discovered those searches to tiredness, but also other occasions where the word ‘tired’ appeared to feature. “We saw messaging carried out over the Apple iMessaging system. “In July 2012 there’s a whole raft of them [mentions to being tired]. “Mentions of ‘Getting tired’ and ‘you sounded tired on the phone’ are found in a conversation between Stewart and Helen.”

Helen Bailey complained about falling asleep

A number of web pages were made by Helen between 7.34pm and 10.51pm on the evening of April 8, 2016. The searches related to ‘Mumsnet fell asleep afternoon’ ‘falling asleep in the afternoon’ ‘can’t stop falling asleep’ ‘I’m so tired falling asleep at work’.

I don't know about HB, but my PayPall account is connected to my bank account. The only money I may occasionally have in the PP account are refunds from earlier purchases paid with PP. Other than that, PP is an intermediate between the payment and my bank account. So yes, my so-called wealth can be accessed with PP.

Trial adjourns for lunch

That’s the end of DC Paul’s evidence. There will now be a break for lunch, until 2.05pm.

Good point! This could have been his 'backdoor' attempt at accessing her money...

July 2012 searches for tiredness!!

and
“On April 8, there were various searches which seemed to relate to tiredness......The searches related to ‘Mumsnet fell asleep afternoon’ ‘falling asleep in the afternoon’ ‘can’t stop falling asleep’ ‘I’m so tired falling asleep at work’.......

context for april 8th and thereabouts :
Solicitor Mr Penn said that there was a due to be a further appointment with Helen on 2.30pm on April 8, but he assumes this to have been cancelled as it was crossed out in his diary.

April 5, Margaret Holson “The last time I saw Helen would be April 5, she appeared absolutely fine. She came round after texting that Ian’s tumour was benign and that her life could begin.”
Celebrating at Royston gastro-pub must have been around the 8th or 9th ( HB Twitter)

Wow could he have been randomly drugging her as far back as when they first met (when he had his old supply)

the only info - dating - for IS's transfer comes from that email.

Note that the cops had access to his main phone on apr 20th.
he may have had two phones though, as the quote from the June 17th email says.

or it could just be a US based fraudster as witness says

Yes, my PayPal account is linked to my credit card. Anything I buy through PayPal appears as a charge on my credit card account each month.
Incidentally my PayPal a/c was once hacked to transfer some money to a US account. PayPal immediately checked with me and refunded the money as soon as I confirmed it was a bogus transaction.

<RSBM>

as for IS delaying reporting, JB being instrumental, making that happen etc . I have wondered whether IS was hoping time elapsed might mean private CCTV recorded over and thus harder for the police to track. (IDK how it works with council run and train station CCTV though, they might not record over quite so fast.)

BTW do you think he transferred , sometime June, from his previous call provider to O2 for dodgy reasons? ( worried about phone data retrieval?)

Look at the 7th post (by Copper). It would appear that the Data Protection Act, 1998 is still in force and hasn’t been amended so the information he provides still stands. I couldn't get the link to open in his post.

Wow could he have been randomly drugging her as far back as when they first met (when he had his old supply)

23/01/16 Dr Afshan Kahn 10 minutes.Zopiclone prescribed 7.5mg 28 tablets
On August 17, 2010, Stewart had previously been supplied zopiclone, at a dosage of 7.5mg. He also had the same dosage in June 2005

He may have had 84 tablets over 11 years stored up, all still effective.

However I'm sure the Defence will get stuck into that one, saying it's menopause etc.

Eileen's testimony She admits that Helen complaining about feeling dizzy was before Christmas 2015 and it wasn’t a ‘new phenomenon’* She said Helen told her that around this time, she was starting to go through the menopause, and Eileen attributed a lot of Helen’s memory problems down to this.

and toxicology on available hair makes it unprovable.
The hair specimen was 35cm in length and analysed in four segments. Hair is assumed to grow at 1cm a month... as you move further away from the scalp the levels drop, but the drug was detected in all four segments of hair.”

Personally I think he was drugging her over a long-term period though.
