The cleaner and the smashed sculpture , hidden pieces - if that's a lie , I'd want to be recalled if I was that cleaner to set that straight

Section 200 of the Criminal Procedure Act and section 237(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code, give a court power at any stage of any trial, injury or other proceedings under the Act and law respectively, to summon any person as witness (the person not having been called as a witness by either the prosecutor or defence) or to recall and re-examine (a witness already examined) at any stage of the trial.

Will Trimmer think this important enough to do? The video of the presumed duvet at the tip was obviously important enough to be shown to the court and the cleaner said she hasn't seen it since. Her credibility is in issue here.

MrJitty, where are you?

Why is he telling this unlikely story about he and Helen lifting the cess pit lid together all the time? How is this supposed to help his case? :dunno:

He has to show that he couldnt move it on his own ( I refuse to use the word lift because there was no need to lift anything )

However, who can he say helped him with this ? He cant say Jamie or Oliver because they would then be called back to testify to the truth , or otherwise, of this statement.

so the only person who fits the bill is Helen, because she cant dispute his story.

A man called Joe"

Stewart: “A man called Joe knocked at the door in Royston and I answered it.

“He said ‘I’m an old friend of John Sinfield’s does Helen Bailey live here?’

“I said yes, Helen joined me at the door.

“He was 65 maybe a bit older, tall as me roughly, olive skin, sunken cheeks, short grey hair, dressed in possibly a suit.

“I’d say he wasn’t English, he had a foreign accent of some sort.”

Chloe Keedy ‏@ChloeKeedyITV 13m13 minutes ago

Russell Flint: 'Could you have picked up a dead body and carried it over your shoulder? Or dragged one ... on a duvet?' Stewart: 'No, no.'

I'm surprised he didn't say ... No way Jose

Helen recognised him"

Stewart: “The front gate must have been broken because his car was parked in front of the front door.

“I’m certain it was a black or very dark Range Rover.

“Helen recognised him.”

Casually 'the front gate must have been broken' AS IF?!!!

I saw you on Sky News'

Stewart: “Joe said to Helen he hadn’t been in England much since John died, he gave condolences to Helen, said ‘I saw you on Sky News, and I’ve also read your book’.

“He said if it’s convenient he would like a word with Helen, Helen said fine, I then took Boris away because when a new visitor comes in he gets very excited and wants their attention.

“As Joe was going through to the study he said ‘I’m in GGHW’

With the benefit of hindsight, wouldn't it have been great if the police had placed a listening device in the house. If one was placed e.g. in the dining room, in-between the two searches, who knows what it would have picked up.

Joe asked if Helen had paperwork about the business'

“Joe was at the house for not very long at all, I was playing with Boris so I don’t know. He was there for 10/15 minutes.

“It was a quick visit. I didn’t see him leave but I was aware he’d left. I didn’t say goodbye.

“After he’d gone, Helen came to see me and said Joe was an old business partner of John’s.

“She said ‘I never knew what they did, but they would meet up’. She said she’d seen him quite often in London and in Broadstairs, but she was never involved in their meetings.

“Helen said Joe had asked her if she had any paperwork about the business John was involved in with Joe.

“Helen said no, but she would look at the paperwork.

“She said Joe had said it was a lever arch file. Helen didn’t know anymore than that.”

is it just me or does Joe sound like the kind of guy who would not know what the words lever arch file mean ?

I think he means this Joe said it to infer 'I'm in the house GGHW' as if to sound threatening?

For some reason this paperwork was important to him"

“Helen had gone through all John’s stuff on some level in the past, so she told him she hadn’t seen it.

“She did to start to look for this lever arch file the week after.

“In the garage in the far wall was a row of boxes and other storage things.

“It was never dealt with why Joe would be interested in this. She said it was a bit strange after all this time.

“For some reason this paperwork was important to him, and he thought John Sinfield had it.

“This was some time in February 2016.”
