GUILTY UK- Major incident declared in Southport after multiple stabbings, 29 July 2024

The teenager showed violent behaviour while in high school

He was excluded from his secondary school for an incident involving a hockey stick,

The teenager, who is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, is believed to have left Range High School in Formby in around 2019, before moving to a specialist school.

Teachers at the specialist school were concerned about Rudakubana's behaviour and his violence towards others

At his first appearance at Liverpool Crown Court, Deanna Heer KC, prosecuting, said it was understood Rudakubana had been unwilling to leave the house and communicate with his family for a period of time.

She said: 'He was seen by the psychiatrists at the police station but refused to engage with them.'

The court was told he had no obvious evidence of mental health disorder which required diversion to hospital.

His mother, father and older brother were co-operating with police and had provided witness statements.

Rudakubana refused to speak in court when addressed and refused to stand

Judge Mr Justice Goose said: "And he is choosing not to speak?"

Mr Reiz said: "Yes, my lord."

Deanna Heer KC, prosecuting, confirmed the families had not attended because it was assumed the trial would open on Tuesday.

Mr Justice Goose said he extended his apologies to them that “for that reason they weren’t here to hear him enter his pleas”.

I wonder if his solicitors/ barristers knew he was going to do this.

From the report, it looks as though AR only informed his Barrister today in court.
However, I think it is very possible that he had already communicated this privately.

Stan Reiz KC, defending, approached the dock to speak to the defendant and Rudakubana nodded in response to him.

Mr Reiz confirmed there was no dispute that the defendant was Rudakubana and he could hear what was being said.

Judge Mr Justice Goose said: 'And he is choosing not to speak?'

Mr Reiz said: 'Yes, my lord.'

Mr Reiz then told the judge: 'I am instructed for the indictment to be put again.'

The clerk then began reading each of the 16 counts of the indictment, with the defendant replying with the single word “Guilty” each time and the clerk repeating back “You wish to change your plea to guilty”

When he first entered Liverpool Magistrates’ Court, he was seen to smile towards members of the press before covering his face.

Could his choice to suddenly change plea to today when the families were not in court be an attempt to have control of the whole
situation? I’m assuming he would have known the families were not present and could have wanted to not give them that moment.

Well that’s a surprise but very much grateful that he has pled Guilty to everything.

I had not realized that he had been following an Al Queda Manual and had possession of ricin. As if murdering three little girls wasn’t enough, just imagine what would have happened if he had the opportunity to use the ricin.

It concerns me that he may not be incarcerated for life due to his age. He will not be rehabilitated and will remain a threat for the rest of his life. That is a very frightening reality.

MOO

On BBC News channel they said as he's under 21 he can't have a whole life tarrif. (Please ignore if that's already been mentioned)
This is correct. As he was 17 years old when the offences were committed, the starting point for the most serious types of murder is 27 years. After taking into account the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, I think we're probably looking at 35-37 years. It's worth remembering that the tariff with a life sentence is the point at which the prisoner can apply for parole. It isn't automatic that they will be given it. If he's still a danger to the public he may never be released.

It's absolutely about being in control. By pleading guilty at the last moment he's inconvenienced all concerned because the lawyers for both sides have had to prepare for the trial, when he could have pleaded guilty months ago. Also, the guilty plea means that there wont now be detailed analysis in court as to what he did and why he did it. We may never really know.

Southport knife attacker Axel Rudakubana is feared to have been planning Britain's first high school massacre a week earlier but was talked out of going to the building by his father, it can be revealed.

Armed with a large kitchen knife the teenager wore a green hooded sweatshirt and surgical mask as he left his home to a waiting taxi. It would be the same outfit he chose to wear when he went on his murderous rampage in Southport on July 29.

But his father Alphonse ran out after him and pleaded with the taxi driver not to take him on the 15-mile journey from the family home in Banks, Lancashire, to Range High School, in Formby, Merseyside.

There is no suggestion his father knew what he is believed to have been planning at the school.

BBM

Then why did his father run out and talk him from going there...and did he admit to having a large kitchen knife or has the father admitted to knowing that..which would mean, he probably had a good idea what his son was going to do..

As I think has already been mentioned, unfortunately this individual cannot be sentenced to a whole life term, as per attached (apologies if already posted)

"Detention during His Majesty’s Pleasure is a mandatory life sentence and will be imposed when a child or young person is convicted or pleads guilty to murder. Schedule 21 of the Sentencing Code states that the starting point for determining the minimum sentence where the offender is under 18 years of age is 12 years as opposed to 15 years for those over the age of 18."

So reading this I hope he gets at least 40 years, i.e. 12+ years (hopefully more) for each of those poor little girls to be served consecutively (assuming he can be given consecutive sentences) plus time for the other offences. I'm sure the Judge knows everyone will be watching very closely on Thursday, and I think if he can give consecutive sentences he will.

It is my sincere hope he is never released. The photo posted above says it all, he will always be extremely dangerous.
