Jurors at the trial of nurse Lucy Letby will continue their deliberations today. They have so far been discussing the case for 20hours in a room at Manchester Crown Court - today is their sixth day of deliberation (after a break last week)

Prosecutors have alleged that from June 2015 to June 2016, Ms Letby murdered seven babies and attempted to kill a further 10 on the Countess of Chester Hospital's neonatal unit. The 33-year-old has denied all charges.

I think they are going to get a lot done today. I bet the jurors are more than ready to get their lives back and will try to get this finished as efficiently as possible.

My Opinion

There's no way I could sit in a room with a bunch of people for eight months listening to this intense subject matter and not fall out with at least one of them - by which I mean never want to see them again, never mind tomorrow at 9am. And I'm a super chill, easy going, conciliatory, 'blessed are the peacemakers', type person who can withstand the absolute most amount of madness and conflict imaginable.

I can only but suspect the sorts of things that could go on between people and what sort of dynamics could arise. They could be in some form of conflict resolution or investigation. God forbid this jury were to be dismissed...

All IMHO but imagine if as they all sat down 4 said right she defo G (or NG) let’s get this done and get on with our lives and others of different views / characters said No - This is a complex trial, we’ve sat for 9 months . We’ll be going through charge by charge.

Bound to cause tension.

Ultimately, no deliberations took place last week.

However, on Monday, July 24, the trial judge allowed deliberations to resume at 10.30am.

Yep. I am thinking that they may end up with verdicts on SOME of the charges and others may be unable to be reached.

I don't think it's normal wording. It suggests to me some kind of decision. But I have a feeling they are still 12 because I don't see why they couldn't report a reduction in number.

Right, and it didn't say "However all 12 jurors were here this morning."

It said 'However, the judge allowed deliberation this morning"

So it sounds like he changed criteria today so he could get back on track? IMO
