I'm looking forward to that. Will be a first for me to see what she is like personably. Just from those snippets I get cold, fake crying and ofc bedhead which was great.

I'm not looking forward to the Netflix docu-drama at all....these are usually hit pieces against the prosecutors.

It is very fashionable to promote 'innocence falsely accused' type of documentaries. Just like 'The Making of a Murderer' did.

I think judging from the snippets it's probably a mix of opinions tbh. It's got one of the professors in saying he thought she did it but no-one saw her do it.

I'm curious though, that's footage of her first arrest but the second one where she says about the knee surgery. Was it after the first arrest where she was told to stay at her parents house? Presumably after the first where they gathered all that stuff from her house?

Bit of a recap

The first arrest was when she answered the door. That was July 3rd 2018. The other two were at her parents house.

I didn't realise the second two were there. I thought that she was answering bail on the final one and was arrested at the police station, for some reason.

Looks like I was right, then. There's a lot more to come out about her personal life which was being held back until the conclusion of all the criminal investigations into her. It was only a couple of days ago that they announced there would be no further charges.

OK dokey. Interesting really as she wasn't at all surprised on that first time but the others much more so.

I did just realise something though. When NJ KC said she was lying about being arrested in her pyjamas she wasn't, she was not referring to the first time was she? Just for what it's worth it's actually much more understandable now we know it was a bit more like a dawn raid. She was indeed in her pyjamas, she was indeed dragged out in front of her parents, humiliating and upsetting for both parties. She's actually kind of right to be upset by that.

I find it remarkable that NJ took that angle on that at all and kind of excluded the others which is a misrepresentation of the events with the arrest of her in her pyjamas being more memorable and more recent. He should have known. It's also remarkable that she herself didn't mention that she can't have been thinking straight as it's glaringly obvious and yeh that really didn't make her look good did it, like she was lying about that but she wasn't.

That's just one small bit and is what it is.

However I do genuinely find it remarkable.

As a further point. When she says "don't look, just go inside" must be speaking to her parents. imo a display of genuine empathy and perhaps genuinely being upset.
Eta would be classified as both affective empathy and cognitive empathy. Feels the upset ( affective) suggests something to try and make it better (cognitive).

I can't recall it precisely, but I do recall thinking at the time that it wasn't a big deal and that she was probably getting mixed up between the incidents. Seemed a strange thing to make something of but, as I say, I can't recall the specifics.

Oh b*gger - I've probably just gone and proved her innocence to the faithful 🤦‍♂️

Oh look, turns out she was wearing her pyjamas after all. Obviously. What a surprise.

No skeletons are coming out the closet. This is the beginning of the end now. This documentary will show exactly how an innocent person would act.

High hopes then? I myself am not expecting much. The only new bit will be seeing letby up close and personal and that will be interesting as all we've had really is words and our imaginations.

Weird. Am I right in that Ben myers didn't challenge that from NJ KC ? Because that's another failing really. I won't lie it bothers me a little because that was a big 5hing to me as it kind of proves or at least strongly suggests she's lying and if she made that bigger mistake it also casts a little question mark over the shredder doesn't it?

I'll watch it but I doubt it - based on the trailer - will reveal anything useful or insightful to add to the pot of what we already know about her.

Same. I'm very curious to see more of her nature and behavior but I see from the trailer that it features MM and her "team" who are all fairly unhinged, imo.

Call me cold, Sweeper, but I'm finding it a little hard to understand your empathy here and/or have sympathy for her pyjama drama trauma.

The best way to avoid such a scenario is not to murder innocent newborns.

I guarantee that approach would ensure no personal humiliation or parental upset at any time of the day.

I'm the same. I felt more empathy towards her parents tbh. I was also highlighting the misrepresentation of facts and character as well. Imo misrepresenting someone's character is especially damning. But again was highlighting the fact it shouldn't have been presented that way and the ease with which it could have been dismantled but wasn't. It's kind of saying something about the trial isn't it? But yes not necessarily a big deal.

It's a fair point but ultimately it has no bearing on anything. It's not as if it had been acknowledged that she was arrested in the manner that she said she was changes anything.

I still feel such a pang when I think of her parents and what their lives must be like now.

It is a big deal. This was one of the big gotchas used to prove she was a liar. The media and the podcast were all over it. Except she wasn’t lying, was she.

Nick Johnson flipped back and forth in that line of questioning about which arrest he was talking about, until finally it looked like she had lied.

Then they made sure to only show a snippet of the 2018 arrest, so everyone could see how brazen a liar she was.

Because any other footage would have clearly shown her in pyjamas.

This investigation was an exercise in confirmation bias from the get go.

This will be referred back to the court of appeal. The managers will not be charged. Thirlwall’s report will never be released.

And one thing I’m most sure of, these babies will never get justice.

I remember Ben myers closing speech he said it largely came down to whether people believed she was telling the truth. That was my angle and its importance. IMHO some relatively minor points within a larger framework.

So yeh doesn't change much if anything. As we've still got her falsifying notes etc.

Re her parents
That's one deep, dark labyrinth of a rabbit hole for them I think, one from which I doubt they will re-emerge.
