i've said before that the cleanest other space in the house is the landing, outside the bathrom. He could have laid the car boot liner on the landing and when finished shoeved it into the back of the cooker which was facing the landing

And SH wouldn't have noticed this? I know he said she was at his mum's, but she said she heard sawing coming from the bathroom. This case is driving me insane, nothing makes sense at all.

[h=3]Matthews tells jury about upbringing with grandmother[/h]Matthews also admitted he prevented Becky’s burial and that he had two stuns in his possession.
The jury heard Matthews was brought up by his grandmother Margaret May.
He said his childhood memories were “happy”.
Matthews said: “I remember my mum used to come up and visit me and take me to school. I never bunked off school or anything, it was just normal.”
His relationship with his mum was good - but he had no relationship with his dad, the court heard.
Matthews said: “He either left when I was a baby or when I was born.”
He studied to be an electrician on a full-time college course in Bristol. He failed the second year of the course.
Matthews was aged 19 or 20 when he joined the Territorial Army, the jury heard. He had been a cadet since the age of 12 or 13.
The jury heard Matthews first job was at Domino’s pizza working as a delivery man on a moped. He also did a similar delivery job for Sainsbury’s supermarket.
He said: “I then worked as an electrician’s mate because I told the truth.”
Matthews latest job was as a delivery driver for a Chinese takeaway in Bristol.

This isn't convincing me he would be able to overpower a fit and healthy 16 year old, inflict 40 injuries, strangle/smother her, carry her body downstairs, then carry it into his house ....... then easily use an electric saw with no help from anyone else!

He keeps saying SH wasn't involved, then paints a picture of himself that suggests he couldn't be capable of doing what he claims he did on his own.

Why is his supposed medical condition relevant to his defence, if it contradicts the fitness and health one would assume was needed to carry out the crime?

Yes I think she'd have noticed. The bathroom was the only place they could really say it was done, that she wouldn't have noticed/witnessed. But then there was no blood found on the landing either.

Exactly what I was thinking. It could be he's on some kind of disability benefit and is sticking to what he told them about his disability and how it affects him.

He said: “I’ve always been in pain. When I sneeze I can collapse from the pain.
“I have a chemical imbalance in my brain or nerves which are sending the wrong signals to my brain. I feel a hot burning pain which stops you doing simple tasks.”
Asked if he was a hoarder, Matthews said: “Yes, it happened after I met Shauna. That’s when it got really bad. I don’t like waste. If I see someone throwing away a chest of drawers I will fix it.
“They call it junk, I don’t. A couple of car seats or baby items which can be cleaned up and sold on. It’s all stuff I can use.
“There was some stuff I did collect which I wasn’t able to fix so I chucked it away. I am able to chuck stuff away.”
Matthews said he also suffered from anxieties.
He said: “I used to sweat a lot even when it was freezing cold. Social situations I avoid because I struggle with them because I can’t recall things I’ve done in the past and tell it.
“I feel my face going red and hot.”
Matthews admitted he had anger issues.
He said: “If I’m shown violence then I will show it back.
“If somebody drives close behind me and is being aggressive I will react to that by putting the brakes on.
“It’s fight or flight. If you corner a rat then you will attack.”

Talking about his mental state, Matthews said he was “highly stressed”.
The jury heard Matthews mum Anjie met Becky’s dad Darren Galsworthy more than ten years ago.
He was best man at the couple’s wedding three years ago.
Matthews said: “I gave a very short speech.”
