Sarah Williams is shown a picture said to show her removing a tracker device from Ian Johnston's car. She says its not her.
Prosector asks her to explain how the tracker then found its way into her car minutes later. She says she can't explain it.....
....."It's not for me to come up with explanations" says Sarah Williams.
Sarah Williams has also said she doesn't know how the tracker came to put on charge at her home.

Indeed. The MEN reporter is also covering a local shooting from last night and I think he is more involved with that event

Is that her whole defence? Just deny, deny, deny even the most compelling evidence?

Defendants 'giggled' as they bought flowers

Sarah Williams and Kit Walsh delivered flowers to Sadie Hartley’s home in Sunny Bank Road in the middle of the night on January 7, the court has heard.

Williams said they ‘giggled’ as the purchased the flowers from Tesco and made the delivery.

Kit Walsh was the one who had found out where Ms Hartley lived, according to Ms Williams.

Miss Williams said: “She [Kit] said ‘I have ways and means’. It was a phrase she used.

“It was silly, it was ridiculous,” adds Williams of that night.
“This story is ridiculous,” says prosecutor Mr McDermott.

Am a bit puzzled as to why Williams found it so difficult to obtain Sadie's address. Why didnt she just look it up on line ? instead of the expense of a tracker etc

  • #758
Wasn't Sadie renting?

  • #759
Another possibility - they wanted to know when IJ's car wasn't there to find Sadie at home alone. When they first set out on this plan they may not have known IJ was going to go abroad without Sadie.

I expect they couldn't quite work up the courage to do it with IJ in the country, in case he unexpectedly came home while they were there.

Flower delivery was ‘pretty creepy'

Prosecutor Mr McDermott says the flower delivery to Sadie Hartley’s home was ‘pretty creepy.’

“It was pretty creepy what happened, what you and Kit were giggling about,” he says.

In response Miss Williams said: “Looking back it was a stupid thing to allow to have happened.”
