Agreed, I was actually shocked when I read that they were arrested in front of the passengers. Hope they felt humiliated and degraded! I was surprised they were trusted to make the journey with no law enforcements. Be interesting to see if any other passengers will speak out? I read somewhere that he slept the whole journey? Bloody hell, how can he sleep after what they have done?

Yep, that's how it works in my experience. I've been on flights involving arrests a few times (not my own, I hasten to add) and it's a detailed, disruptive and sometimes shocking process.

Nothing gets an aggressive de-planer back in their seat quite like the sudden entrance of a dozen heavily-armed tactical officers from front and back of a plane while the pilot drones on about a "brief delay due to a routine security matter." One one such flight the wide boys across the aisle began chanting "Con Air! Con Air!"

I expect some covert filming to eventually make its way to the DM. And the likely remand of the fugitives.

Just resolving matters sounds like sorting out a minor dispute. What happens next should not be too difficult for him to work out.

I have not read every post so forgive me if this has been addressed, but were they "upgraded" to business class with crew knowledge they would be arrested upon landing? It is easier, I imagine, for LE if the arrestees are in the front of the plane??? idk

I would think them being put in business class would be for police operational reasons. A much lower number of passengers and seats more spread out in business class could also be a reason.

Sara Sharif's relatives held by police want to 'resolve matters', says lawyer

Sara Sharif was found dead at her home in Surrey last month. Her father, Urfan Sharif, stepmother Beinash Batool and uncle Faisal Malik are believed to have travelled to Pakistan a day before police discovered the 10-year-old girl's body.

In a statement on Thursday, the family lawyer referred to the footage and said they wanted to resolve the situation.
Attiq Malik, from Liberty Law, said: "As many are aware, a video was released setting out concerns by them of Pakistan police, and their intention to resolve matters.

"We were contacted by them and the next steps to resolve matters is to of course come back to the UK, the difficulty being that you couldn't do that without being in touch with the authorities there.

"So the next step was simply to facilitate their return."

He added: "We got in touch with the police here, we got in touch with various travel agents, and long story short - they've arrived.

"And the next step really is just to resolve matters, using the rule of law, and see what happens next."



I wonder if he was their family lawyer before this happened or they spent time searching for a well known Lawyer to represent them . Next question I am pondering is who is paying or is the lawyer offering to work for free due to the publicity he would receive from a well known case.

The passenger said the suspects were taken off the flight before anyone else.

The passenger told Sky News that police questioned a few people who had been sitting around the suspects on the plane, asking if they had tried to speak to them during the flight.

Officers also said that nobody was allowed to film.

imagine finding out you were seated next to (suspected) murderers for however long that flight was!

Update on Surrey Police Facebook page just now:

We would like to update you today following the tragic death of Sara Sharif.

Three people have been charged with the murder of 10-year-old Sara after her body was found at her home address in #Woking on 10 August.

The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised charges against Sara’s father, Urfan Sharif, 41, of Hammond Road, #Woking, Urfan’s partner, Beinash Batool, 29, of Hammond Road, #Woking, and Urfan’s brother, Faisal Malik, 28, of Hammond Road, #Woking.

They have also been charged with causing or allowing the death of a child.

They were arrested yesterday evening (13 September), at Gatwick Airport as they disembarked a flight from Dubai.

All three have been remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Magistrate’s Court later today (15 September).

Sara’s mother has been informed of this latest development and is being supported by specialist officers. Our thoughts are with her, and those affected by Sara's death, at this difficult time.

Our enquiries remain ongoing and we remain absolutely committed to conducting a thorough investigation into Sara's death.
