Prehaps when the men left to go to work ,Sara screamed because she was in pain and felt she couldn't release it while urfan was there and bienash verbally abused her by shouting at her and name calling with cuss words

Batool's account (if we're to believe the messages to her sister) does not make any sense. We have two different versions of Sara. Children learn very quickly what they need to do for survival if they face physical violence from a caregiver. I can't believe that a child in that situation would be doing the things that Beinash alleges she did.

Also, if she was a victim of domestic violence, are there any messages to her sister evidencing any such treatment?

Just to make very clear I'm not condoning bienash's behaviour nor am I sticking up for her she could have at any point saved Sara and she chose not to ,she is just as guilty as urfan and deserves life without parole .

I do believe without urfan targeting Sara bienash while probably being a horrible stepmum to Sara would not have escalated the violence to the level resulting in death . Urfan allowed HIs daughter to be treated as a verbal and physical punchbag by all the defendants and i believe it was this unspoken or spoken permission that allowed the abuse

urfan was a horrible abusive man long before bienash came into his life She either complimented his personality and was equally as sick or she learned to join in for his approval

I suspect that Urfan is a sociopath. A double-faced Janus. On coming home from work, or maybe from elsewhere, he was angry. Now, four of five kids. Someone would carve out stuff from clothes, or something else, right? Kids. I suspect Beinash blamed it all on Sara, and he wouldn’t care what kid to punish (maybe not the son, though). A very dysfunctional, toxic family where everything is blamed on one child.
It is strange that Beinash uses the word “a jinn”, because I think it is not her generation. But she also uses the word “manic”, so she is not unaware? She could have taken Sara to a psychiatrist, if she had any concerns, or even Urfan. She did not want the doctor to report what they saw or heard. Well, now she is facing exactly the same as her husband.

That's a sombre read Dotta and really widened my eyes to the evil of parents and step parents who murder children. The outright lies to save their own skin is a testament to their cowardice and evil . And that teenager wow what a tyrant. He should be locked up in a mental ward for life he will always be a danger to children and adults

It may be the reporting but there seems to be little emotion from her. I don't detect fear, anguish, worry, sadness in her messages. Then she implies Sara is not right mentally. And her account of Sara's actions and reasons for being punished...a young child hiding keys and cutting up clothes? When the repercussions of such actions are so severe?

1 thing is clear to me after seeing airport CCTV from DM link upthread.

They don't look in panic.
Uncle seems relaxed, there is even a hint of a smile on his face.
The kids wear nice clothes, with arms and legs bare,
so I suppose there are no visible bruises.

So...
Only Sara was subjected to physical violence it seems.
Beaten, strangled, burnt and hooded.

Why?
Why was she so hated?

I don't think we will ever know the truth.

And why would anyone take 10 photos of their severely beaten and bruised step-daughter and send them in a WhatsApp message? To anyone other than the police.

How did she know Sara was doing sit-ups all night? Was she present?

Yes. Bienash didn't mention hoods being put on Sara's head in the messages to her sister/sisters I don't think. But she does mention the low oxygen level.

I think the messages are quite selective in content. Lots of references to Sara being beaten. But we know that's not all that happened to her.

If you compare U's airport CCTV pic and present Court sketch
the difference in appearance is staggering.

And the time frame is only 1 year more or less.

Both B and uncle look the same now & then.
