My heart goes out to their family, facing this tragedy. It is not yet clear what happened. Hopefully there will be a break in the case soon.

Lyman's 17-year-old daughter called 911 emergency dispatchers after finding her mother and half-brother... Lyman's 15-year-old son was also found in a bedroom at the home. The teen was not injured...

Currently no suspect identified. Causes of death are not yet confirmed. Eli died at home from the shooting on March 28th. Jessica died later at a hospital.

There are some nice descriptions of the victims in this article.

I just saw this covered by Law and Crime, although it wasn’t particularly illuminating. What a horrible story. Hopefully there will be some movement of some kind soon. It certainly doesn’t feel like a random crime.

A neighbor who lives several doors from the Saratoga Springs home where Jessica Lyman and her young son Eli Painter were shot said his family's security camera video showed more than one person outside the house in the morning darkness of March 28 — hours before the two were found.

Jayden Bradley said he viewed the images and gave them to police.

”We saw four shadow figures walking up the driveway, and up to the car, and three of them went around the front of the car, and one opened the driver's side door, and the car lit up," Bradley said. "Then the other three went around the front of the house, and the camera stopped rolling."

Why can't LE view the ring footage from Jessica's doorbell camera? Ring is refusing to hand it over but why can't they watch it from the phone of the person who set up the ring account?

Assistant Chief Bill Robertson released a statement Wednesday saying there was nothing new to pass along to the public.

“Due to the sensitive nature of this case and its ongoing status, no further information can be released to the public or media at this time,” he said.

A neighbor said about a year ago he saw police at the home in the middle of the night.

"I didn't care at the time," said Skyler Norton. "Obviously, now it's piqued my interest."

KUTV asked Saratoga Springs Police if officers had responded to the home then, and if so, why, but as of this writing, had not received a reply.

As for the murder investigation, two neighbors said they would like to hear more from police.

It's difficult to tell if an outside party entered the home and murdered them or if this is a domestic tragedy, IMO.

Wow. Sad. Domestic violence. It is so hard for people who have teens who are absolutely out of control. Rich folks can send their "problem" away to boarding school. Poor folks, really have no resources. Even middle class, it is so hard to find placement, unless the teen had been violent before, and reported.

Sounds like that may have happened, but it is hard to press charges against your child. People usually go through 20 years or so, before they get there.

While police talked to the 15-year-old boy, he said that he’d been in his room taking a nap and didn’t hear anything. An officer asked him if there were weapons in the home, and the boy said he wasn’t aware of any “guns” in the home, the warrant states.

“At that point, Noah had not been told by EMS or police officers that the incident involved a gun or gunshot wounds,” police wrote in the warrant.

Lyman’s daughter and the 15-year-old brother were interviewed at a Children’s Justice Center, where the boy said he had been up late the previous night using his cellphone.

No arrests...

I am absolutely stunned there has not been an arrest. This is shaping up to be a truly depraved crime.

Agree. Where has the teen been since the murders happened? Was he staying with his other parent? Extended family? A friend? Where is he now?

How horrific. These articles indicate a very troubled teen living in that house. It says a BB Gun was found in his bedroom, along with an empty beer can and notes referencing things like “serology,” “DNA,” and “firearm testing, and “this is a murder story.”
Jessica's cell phone showed text messages from him like, "do you know how insignificant you really are to my life?” And there is evidence a mask was used and a SA occurred. Let's hope for the full truth and real justice here.

That’s what’s concerning. His sister (the 17 year old) and him share the same father, so if he is with his dad then he’s most likely also with his sister… I can only imagine that’s a recipe for disaster.

Maybe he’s in a mental institution? Either way, where he needs to be is behind bars. I can’t believe an arrest hasn’t been made especially given the evidence.
