The thing is, she wouldn't be able to hide her own body. (I'm not familiar with Mara Murray, I'm just addressing the suicide part)

I have trouble with thinking she left on her own. One problem is, her sister and her were extremely close, right? And she just had a baby. So KA is a brand new auntie and she decides to bail? Of course it's certainly possible, I'm just not sure I think it's probable.

I lean towards foul play, but I don't have a theory.

Can you expand on what you think happened to her? I was certain of something, as much as possible knowing nothing of the circumstances, but I'm leaning the way of what AR feels now.

Wonder how long this will go on. Blessings to Kaitlin that she is well and doing what she feels is best for her. But she should inform Amber.

It's possible she's missing by choice, but it's gone on for so long now. It doesn't appear, at least on the surface, she was in an abusive or dangerous situation and had to escape. That might be possible though, and she's still in hiding for her own safety.

But I think more likely it's something bad. Maybe she met up with someone known or unknown (for whatever reason my hunch is someone she met online but never in person) at the mall and she was kidnapped, assaulted, or worse.

JMO and I'm no expert.

I mean this case seems similar because there's so much mystery around it, but I haven't seen anyone anywhere suggest Katelin was suicidal. So yes, it's similar to Maura's case but there's at least one glaring (for now) exception.

I think she left on her own.

From the beginning, it seemed like it was such an arranged drop off at the mall where there were no cameras to record her. She had planned everything out in advance including the texts to her mom and fiancée.

The statement from LE appears to me to be their way of saying she left on her own. Their lack of follow up with this case seconds this opinion.

As a parent I would not be satisfied with LE's statement! Give me a definite answer, yes or no! As an outsider looking in, I see a definite answer in LE's statement.

I hope wherever Katelin is, she is safe and happy.

All speculation since we dont know that any of this has happened;

People cheat on partners all the time.
People feel trapped in relationships and want to get out of them all the time.
People have trouble with their family and friends and want to escape all the time.

People do not drop off the face of the earth and cease all contact with everyone they know all the time.

BBM----that is why I think this might be a combination of 'bad' events. I wonder if she 'met' someone who she thought was going to help her get away to hang out somewhere, so she could think things through for awhile. But maybe that person was not a friend after all?

To those who feel KA walked away on her own, where do you think she is? I just can't imagine she would just leave and go live on the streets or something.

I am so two minds about this case.

Like I've said, to be gone this long would show (IMO) an above normal amount of desperation to get away and never come back, though we have not heard any proof of anything that would have seemingly warranted that (debts, charges, abuse, etc). And I'm fairly cynical. So when I hear " last seen with" and then A shaky story around all of that, you can bet where my mind goes. Especially with LE not being able to confirm anything about her actually being at the mall at any point. And particularly since her sister was the only one to ever make a statement from her Virginia side (that I know of). The luggage being dumped towards where she came from (and not further from the mall) is weird to me.


On the other hand, we have all interpreted LE saying the thing about "this has happened before" as a broad statement on people disappearing themselves, but he may have been being specific to Katelin.

I just find it hard to believe that a teenage girl who is having all of her bills paid for by others can suddenly run away from her life and need for nothing (like a job or housing or school).

So she either found someone who is taking care of her and paying for everything and she is doing nothing that would need a social security number or drivers license or background check, or IMO she is gone.

Perhaps she found out Katelin met someone in Virginia while she was home, maybe even prearranged it which is how she learned about the potential affair.

Yes. And such a situation, if not inherently abusive for someone her age, has great potential for violence and abuse.

I haven't read every post in this thread but I wonder (based on what her gf said) if she is pregnant.
