I'm glad I don't live around there, I would be the #1 POI.

The boots I have around here have got mud on them about 90% of the time.

I hardly ever wash it off though, what's the point, I'm just gonna get them dirty again the next time it rains !

IIRC he said a presser would be coming today roughly between 10 and 2 pm , PST . So I guess they figured they would narrow it down further when it got closer to time. It's nearly 10 there now , so I'm assuming its' not at 10 !

Interesting. I wonder if it varies in different counties/part of the state. I googled for aluminum recycling in my area and there are none. $0.40 cents for a pound of cans? But it takes like 30 cans to get a pound. That is hardly worth it! But I suppose if you have no other source of income, or you happen to be walking/riding a bike everywhere anyways... Where I grew up in California, we could get around $1.00 a pound. In college I had friends who would go out to various neighborhoods on the night before garbage day and pick through recycling bins on the curb to get the aluminum. It was pretty profitable; they could pull in a few hundred dollars a week for an hour or two of work per night. Perfect for a couple starving college students who just needed money to eat! Not sure if it was legal though.

It's probably going to be after the reporters show up and get all the mics positioned and ready. I'm not expecting it to be much more than a progress report. "We're working hard, we're moving forward, we'll be here until we solve it".

They should spice it up a little bit by getting Nancy Grace to start it out by proclaiming "BOMBSHELL TONIGHT !!"..................followed by information that is already known and of little or no use to anybody.

I live in the south where cowboy boots and work boots are commonly worn. I think that if it was a young person's footprints, since it's summer that kids are either wearing flip-flops or tennis shoes (if he/she's wearing shoes at all).

It's very very very *very* common for a member of the clergy to be called in, counsel whoever needs counsel, and then make a statement. It sounds like he knows him/her/them well, but in reality all he's really doing is trying to focus on the positive and encourage hope. It happens with cases like this, and more obviously funerals. I can't tell you how many pastors have given a funeral sermon and know NOTHING about the deceased, but talk about them like they were some super hero.

There is all different types of boots, both for male and female. My wife has some "high fashion" boots, they are bright red and the outsole looks like the tread you would see on a jeep or an off road vehicle. I don't think you could slip while wearing those things even if you were walking on packed ice with a fresh layer of mist on it. I wish I had tire tread that knobby on my pickup !

She also has a pair of cowboy boots with a rubber traction tread on them, same as a mans work boot would have. I make her wear them when we are out cutting firewood or hanging out in rattlesnake country. She has a pair of rain boots, same thing. Snow boots, same thing. Traction tread.

Anyway, I think a lot more telling would be the size of the boots. The widths, the size and the tread design. I'm sure the FBI has an entire database dedicated just for that purpose, identifying the manufacturer and where they were sold.

The question is, who was wearing them ? Did someone leave them sitting on the back porch last Sunday morning caked with mud ?
Was someone seen washing them down with a water hose on Monday ? Have a favorite pair of hiking boots gone missing from inside the home ? Those are the questions the people inside that park are going to have to answer, none of us can.

I did think of a female wearing boots. I suppose is possible to be wearing fashion boots but marching through the woods with fashion boots seems unlikely and I do not think a girl would want to destroy her fashion boots.

There may be no new info in a presser, but at least they are communicating with the public. If there weren't any pc's people would be complaining imo. In the active search for Relisha Rudd they had a presser every day and everyone here greatly appreciated it, even though there was nothing new to report. jmo

well it is back to school time and there will be lots of clothes shopping trips for families this weekend so this will be tricky time to determine who is covering up a crime and who is innocently replacing wardrobe

Maybe. But maybe not. Especially if the shoes/shorts/shirt/whatever is found in the dumpster covered in mud.

I went to a funeral for a young woman once and the priest mispronounced her name the entire eulogy. He read it as it looked like it would be pronounced on paper, but her name was pronounced completely differently. He apparently had never known her or even spoken to the family. It was awful. Everytime he said her name the audience flinched.

I really like how they are handling this case with the locals and public in general. I do think their frequent pressers have a purpose. To keep the community informed and calmer. Also I think their words keep the pressure on the perpetrator. IMO.

Where I live in southern Ontario, in the summer it's very common to see girls in shorts and those sort of retro-style slouch/ankle boots or low-rise mocs. I'm not sure about the current trends in Bremerton, but high-top tennis shoes are still very popular for boys, pretty much everywhere I think, all year long.

Boots is a huge clue, to me, because it would limit the people .

I have winter boots. I have rain boots, but they simply are not comfy. Hot.

Thank you for explaining. I just think it would be terrible if families neglect their kids, and then make money on their death. My hair stands on end when I think how much money Anthony's made.

I think a fuller story will come out in the end. And I do think J was loved by her family (but terribly neglected)......but, we still don't know who hurt her.

Out of respect for J I have not taken photos (have had plenty of opportunities), and I was a professional photographer at one time. I thought about it and decided not to document happenings at the home.
