Thanks, I still don't understand why the judge would not say the reason, for the record, i.e. even if he was vague and just said that one of the defense attorneys cannot be present and the defendant has exercised her right to adjourn, etc...

I can't either. If JP had said that Baez had to attend to a family issue, we'd still dislike him and maybe the speculation would stop (but I doubt it lol) Maybe ... just maybe, it is actually a private matter. His home is foreclosing, maybe something urgent came up about that (seen that before), add that to a bad mood and you have good reason (in your own eyes) and it is personal (and embarrassing to a big wig)

The biggest issue with any plea deal or confession ICA might do is how the hell-o would anyone know if she was truthful? She could confess that an accident happened, CA discovered it and told ICA to get rid of Caylee. She could confess that CA murdered Caylee accidently and wanted to protect the family. Good grief, any scenario is possible but the truth for ICA to tell.

And now the rumors heat up even more after Nancy Grace reports that immediately after adjourning court, HHJP left and returned to Orlando.

She speculating whether this means a possible plea in the morning?

or just a homecooked meal with wife?

Speculation....speculation...

Wonder if he and Baez carpooled??!!!

The drive time really isn't that bad from Clearwater to the west Orlando Burbs. I-4 is mostly 65-70 MPH so it isn't terrible.

Do you think it would have taken ALL the DT to discuss JB's private matter in chambers? Why all of them??

Court is in recess till tomorrow. Judge asked Cheney if he discussed with his client and he said yes and KC was crying.

It did not look to me like Casey was crying. The grey haired stocky lady was smiling and okay so I am thinking it is a stall tactic once they found out that they had the courthouse all day Friday and Saturday too,

I agree.
JB's speech did seem like a swan song.
Defeated, with a tone of finality as if he understood it needed to be done.
ICA's eye-contact with her handlers before being escorted out by the deputy, just has a sort of apologetic aknowledgement to it.
As if, sorry, but this had to be done.
HHBP, His tone, one of proffesional disappointment.

All my speculation based on body language.
Amazing turn of events..but we expected no less.

Could be a family member has passed.. anything..
< sigh>

I re-watched the final minutes before the break for lunch recess. I agree with your assessment of JB's demeanor. He was certainly lacking his usual bravado and self-confidence. He was subdued and almost sheepish.

Regardless, it appears this jury is not going to happen now. That, together with the disappearance of JB may tell us "It's Over".

I would think JB could be shell-shocked if ICA changed her mind at this point. He certainly would want his day in the sun. He has worked three years for this and disappointment would be an understatement.

She doesn't seem to mind being in jail. She like the restrictions and has adapted. She can finally be "independent", I believe it what she said recently. It appears she reasons that being in prison is prefable to being on Hopesprings w/family.

Even ICA can tell and I am sure she has been told that this trial cannot be won and they are putting all their eggs in the sentencing.
Keeping in mind her distaste for criticism, it is possible she is not going to sit there and listen to anyone calling her names...ANYONE.

Look what she did when JB stated she was acting like a two year old? She moved her chair and has not sat next to him since. Imagine how she will be when her friends and family start talking bad..OMG!

She may just have given it up....

#1. She is a 2 year old. That's why her daughter was her "competition".

#2. I think she is off JB like a dirty shirt because he has been telling her "listen to the PJ's". Many (even more than I thought) are stating CLEARLY they believe she is guilty. She's blaming him now for giving her the advice he should have been giving her all along. They know there's no way to win......not now........end of the hallway for the DT.....and it's about time!

If JB and team were in judge's chambers, then JB is gone even before court is adjourned for the day (which didn't make sense to lose that many hours of PJ time) after the lecture HHJP gave the attorneys before lunch, IMO the jig is up. I perceived HHJP to be a little shaken in voice at the adjournment and did not even mention "why" there was early adjournment. I think she's taking the plea. JB was probably headed to Orlando to see the A's to tell them.

There was no option for "no flippin' idea??" so I didn't vote. :banghead: It's driving me crazy though.

Could it be possible that DT brought up a plea deal and Jose got mad and left saying NO for his client? and he just left? CM then disgusts the matter further with ICA and she has tears.........frieghtened now bout her fate?
DT seems at odds to me.
After all several PJ's already were excused because they sid ICA was guilty ITO.

I think the judge made a mistake in not putting something on the record as far as why court was adjourned so suddenly, at least in the way of rampant media speculation. Maybe it is just a private matter of JB's, but why on earth he did not give some unspecified reason is beyond me. Of course people are going to start thinking plea deals, firings, and motions...why would he want all this ADDED attention to every little aspect of this case, when they don't even have a jury yet?

Now that I've finally had a chance to catch up and read this morning's threads, especially since Judge Perry was worried about Pinellas County kicking them out- I definitely feel whatever this was, it was a delaying tactic on the part of Jose Baez!!!

You know it's been opined that JB is a lot like his client. And we all recall ICA begging her mother to give her one more day to "find" Caylee. Perhaps this is JB's way of begging HHJP for "one more day".
It's amazing the extent a defense lawyer will go to, to do just that.

What happened to all of our webcams??? Where are all the reporters??? We need video!!!

I guess they would rescind the DP and give her LWOP.
Why??? :snooty:I don't see the state needing to agree to anything at this point, unless they are pressured by their superiors to save the cost of a trial.

I guess they would rescind the DP and give her LWOP.

If the state said "no way" to a plea, wouldn't the trial just go on as usual? Why would they rescind the DP? I might be misunderstanding the original question.
