Aaaaand he was "last seen" at 8:00 AM not reported missing until approximately 11:00 AM. How interesting.
Definitely. Wonder if the "caretaker" was in such a hurry they didn't realize they dropped evidence. Seems like these apartments are pretty run down and house many repeat offenders. I doubt there is working cameras if any.

Way too familiar for anyone who'd followed Quinton Simon's case.

Our media partner Action 2 News reports F-B-I investigators are at the Meadows Landfill in Calumet County, where the City of Two Rivers transports its trash. Few details are being released, though aerial views from WISN-TV show a blue tent has been set up, along with orange cones and crime scene tape. Excavation is also reportedly underway. The F-B-I is not saying whether the landfill is connected to the case of Elijah Vue. :(

Not sure what to think? The article below now says it’s cancelled?? Why??

Does anyone know approximately when Katrina's court appearance was cancelled, and approximately when the FBI decided to search the landfill?

I'm wondering if the landfill search started shortly after they cancelled her court case. Because if so, she likely gave them some info on where to search which put a hold on her court appearance as things might be changing. Just a thought that hit me just now.

They keep saying "caretaker" was last to see this poor kid so wondering is mom actually involved with the disappearance or the possible neglect charge is because she left her toddler with her career criminal boyfriend for an extended period. Wonder when mom was last seen with Elijah.

The apartments are smack in the middle of Tuesday trash pickup.
The caretaker reported last seeing him on Feb 20, which would have been Trash Day, and then ported him missing at 11am.

LE was seen examining the dumpster area on Tuesday evening, Feb 20 after the trash pickup, and found the shoe then.

My guess is that whatever happened to Elijah happened the day or night before, and whomever took him didn't notice the single shoe wasn't in the dumpster.

News article was updated at 1036am that said it was cancelled.

And, MOO: they’ve been checking dumpsters and landfills since yesterday and only recently honed in on a specific spot.

FBI agents in hazmat suits searched through the waste while heavy machinery worked near a blue tent. The landfill is nearly 40 miles west from where Elijah was last seen.

Tuesday night, a WISN 12 News crew observed investigators collect a small, slip-on shoe with dinosaurs on it from the ground at the side of the apartment building. The shoe matches the description of what authorities said Elijah was last seen wearing

I found this part very interesting: "Check your surveillance systems from February 12th through February 20th."

Just as I suspected, it's possible that sweet boy was missing long before it was reported.

I too find that interesting, but also the part that says it is a "multifaceted investigation". (bolding by me)

Sounds like it's more than the disappearance of a child.

Thought that was interesting as well. Wonder if the complex itself has working cameras. Something could of happened days before. IMo Tuesday morning was caretakers opportunity to dispose of evidence this is awful but glad his little shoe slipped off smart kid left behind evidence to help bring him justice.

:gulp: :(

3-year-old Elijah Vue remains missing Thursday night. We've learned his mother and another man are in custody - held on child neglect charges. Newschopper 12 - with footage of FBI agents assisting with the search in a Calumet Co. landfill.

Terrible notion that all city dumpsters should have cameras on them :(

At least all apartment complexes should be required to have and maintain cameras.
