Meinnert also asked the public to "refrain from spreading rumors and false information" as doing so can hinder search efforts for Vue. He emphasized that all official facts and information will come from TRPD.

Dozens of community members attended a prayer vigil Wednesday night at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish in Two Rivers. Tori Weaver, a mother of four boys, organized the event.

Meanwhile, residents have been organizing search parties of their own in an effort to find Vue. One took place Wednesday morning near 39th Street and Martin Lane, the area where Vue was last seen.

Two Rivers Police Chief Ben Meinnert says authorities are following up on leads, searching neighborhoods and working tirelessly to find Elijah Vue, a missing three-year-old boy.

Vue was last seen Tuesday morning at his family's home in Two Rivers.

"Since the moment Elijah was reported missing, our law enforcement, from local state and federal agencies, along with dedicated volunteers and community members, had been working tirelessly around the clock to search every inch of our city and beyond into the county," Meinnert said at a news conference Wednesday night. "Our search and rescue teams have been combing through our neighborhoods, parks, wooded areas, and they've been following up on all leads and tips from the public."

“Elijah’s extended family hasn’t had contact with him or his parents for the past couple years.”

Family came in to help search so they appear caring. I wonder what caused such a long time of no contact.
I am not sure if it’s just so they “appear caring” to the public—IMO, it’s totally possibly that EV’s parent simply refused to allow family members to see or speak with her or EV, which I don’t think reflects a lack of genuine care or concern by those family members who are speaking out about the case.

Sorry, I should have been clearer in my wording - I really did mean that they sincerely appear to care for Elijah. I was just wondering what happened to disconnect them from Elijah and his parents for such a long period.

Residents organized a search party Wednesday morning. Both Two Rivers police along with state and federal crime scene response teams were present.

As more community members joined the search, they covered areas near Forest View Cemetery and Holy Cross Cemetery.

In one of those search groups was Vue's aunt.

"We’ve been in contact with law enforcement – giving our all. Trying everything we can to help out," said LV, Elijah's aunt. "It’s been very hard. It’s very disheartening."

Elijah's aunt, LV, spoke with WISN 12 News reporter Kendall Keys on Wednesday.

LV said she is Elijah's father's sister. She did not know who the caregiver was investigators said last saw him.

"Words can't explain what we're going through. Our hearts are very heavy right now at this time. We're all trying to be very hopeful," LV said.

LV said Elijah's relatives came from Green Bay and Appleton to help search for him.

"Hoping for the best outcome of this whole entire situation. At this point, we're not getting a lot of information," LV said, "We are being in constant contact with law enforcement, too. They're not sharing a lot of information with us."

My guess would be, Elijah's parents intentionally distanced themselves (and Elijah, and any other kids there might be) from family to do their own thing. Whatever that entails.

That didn’t occur to me until you wrote it. There’s been no mention of the FBI

I've seen mention of the FBI in several places. I'm going to guess it's the gentleman in a suit.

An unnamed representative of the FBI was standing next to Chief Meinert, as was Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig, as he revealed that every tip is being followed and that the Two Rivers Police Department has received help from many different sources.
