TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WBAY) - The mother of a missing child will appear in court to face a potential charge related to child neglect. A hearing is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. in Manitowoc County court.

Police are seeking a charge of “party to a crime of child neglect” against Katrina Baur, the mother of Elijah Vue, who is the subject of an Amber Alert.

Action 2 News has learned law enforcement is recommending a child abuse charge against a second person in court on Thursday afternoon. We are not identifying him because we have not confirmed a connection.

He was arrested late Tuesday, 12½ hours after Elijah was reported missing, and Elijah’s mother was arrested four hours after that, at 3:48 in the morning on Wednesday, the Manitowoc County Clerk of Courts tells us.

is there a link to the allegations about Vang in your second sentence? I am not seeing that at the link in your post. TIA

The child molestation charge is listed in his record which is public in Wisconsin. Did not see any charge with him being required to register as a SO. Also public that the address Elijah was last seen is Vangs and Mom's and is bio dads cousin. Based on reviewing the rules again I will redact the second sentence because knowledge on that came to me privately from immediate family not a link.

In Wisconsin you can be held 48-72 hours no warrents or charges needed. IMOO the story didn't add up and the two arrested were detained to avoid any tampering with the investigation. There has been no reports of him being found. Two Rivers Police Dept asked last night in the presser to only believe information coming from them on that.

On Thursday it was revealed the boy's mother, Katrina Baur faces child neglect charges, according to WBAY. But, if its unclear if the allegations are related to his disappearance or prior incidents. She has a hearing scheduled for the afternoon.

'Words can't explain what we're going through, Linda Vue said, according to Fox 11. 'Our hearts are very heavy right now at this time, we're all trying to be very hopeful, keeping our head's held high, hoping for the best outcome.'
