Yes. But the circumstances didn’t lend themselves to that theory. It was theoretically possible, but not at all likely.Mollie was an adult though...free to come and go, if she liked.
Can you give me a link? I’ve only read that (as per the police call log) JC was down inside the front door, not how his body was positioned. TIA
I would like to see this as well, Facing down or up can change a whole bunch of theories.
I wonder if it's a technicality with the definition. Technically anyone who was definitely kidnapped is also missing, but because they may have no evidence she was kidnapped, she is "only" technically missing at this point, because there's still a chance that she ran off out of fright after the murders? I'd assume even if she went willingly with someone else, it'd be considered kidnapping because she's a minor, though. I looked at the FBI site and it lists her under a category called "Kidnappings and Missing Persons."I have wondered for a while now why Jayme is not listed as being abducted or kidnapped, just that she's missing. Is there any confirmation anywhere that Jayme was actually in the house that night? Is there any possibility that she might not have been there at all?

wonder if they saw feet or did he have his shoes on? would they still say just feet if so?Body position up or down has not, to my knowledge, been released. The other bit is from here:
Source: CNN.com - Transcripts
FITZGERALD: Our officers responded, pulled into the driveway, and saw an open door and then saw what they
believed to be feet.
BANFIELD: How far -- how far -- yeah, how far in the house was Denise Closs? If James Closs was found at the door, and as you just mentioned, I think that`s the first I`ve heard of this, sir, that when you`re officers responded, they could see his feet from the driveway sticking out of the open door of the home. Is that correct?
FITZGERALD: I don`t know exactly where they -- when they picked him up on site. I don`t know if they pulled in the driveway or when they exactly saw them, but the door was ajar.
i would say feet either way.wonder if they saw feet or did he have his shoes on? would they still say just feet if so?
That’s the thing. As an adult, the standard is higher in regards to calling something a kidnapping, as a person could be missing on their own volition.Absolutely. But, just because Jayme is a minor doesn't mean that she was abducted.

As a child though, especially under these circumstances, it is odd that they aren’t calling it a kidnapping.
Clearly that’s what happened.

I ask because to me if he still had his shoes on it would go along with my theory he was followed home or ambushed just as he walked inside and shut the door.i would say feet either way.
Those are some sobering statistics at the beginning of that report.I attempted to find out how the FBI classifies or uses the term "abduction" or "kidnapping" and ran across this OIG report. Fascinating how the FBI works to improve themselves.
OIG Audit Report 09-08
i agree with your theories but i don't think the wording in the interview can tell us one way or the other.I ask because to me if he still had his shoes on it would go along with my theory he was followed home or ambushed just as he walked inside and shut the door.
or
if he was bare feet then maybe molly (the dog) was barking and he went to the door and it all unfolded.
Yes, they are. I was not at all prepared to lose Mollie Tibbetts - I really believed some delusional person was holding her all that time.....Those are some sobering statistics at the beginning of that report.![]()

I doubt it. They are following a playbook that seems to be standard in cases like this. When LE said during press conferences (not sure which one exactly) that he says jayme was still alive, do you feel that they may have seen something on camera to suggest that she is still alive and that the actions of others would lead them to believe that they would keep her alive?
