If the person was there already, maybe they went to their vehicle for a weapon, during which time James had closed and locked the door...causing it to be kicked in. Or he already had the gun but pulled it out after being escorted out of the house by James, closing door on him.

Btw, I have also wondered if the killer was there ahead of time and had an opportunity to work out the scene.

Im not sure it appears that well planned out. However, it seems very likely the killer(s) were there before.

Nothing was taken afaik other than Jayme. Her parents would have stood in the way of this person taking her so they were quickly eliminated (seemingly). afaik there is no relations or history with criminal activity by either parent. I'm not hearing about enemies, personal debts, drugs, or anything else. The theory I'm pretty stuck on equals the motive being taking Jayme since she was taken alive after her parents were murdered. jmo. This crime strikes me as up close and personal.
I reserve the right to change my mind at anytime.

I think we’re going to need some more info before we’re in agreement. We see it differently right now, but we’re both dealing with a lot of unknowns to get from A to B. I too reserve the right to change my mind.

The only thing that gives me hope (as odd as it may seem) is that LE has maintained the same pattern of not releasing info. I almost dread waking up and seeing LE suddenly releasing info. At this point it would almost seem they were becoming desperate. As long as they are withholding info I feel they know things and are just waiting for that one break or tip. I know people feel differently and want info so I am probably the minority.

I do think this is a real possibility. If the father had just gotten off work a while earlier, it would make sense that the enraged person would show up to finish off the 'confrontation' with violence. As for Jayme, perhaps the murderer just couldn't deal with killing a child, and if she could ID him, would have to be taken with.

This is curious. How is it that someone psycho enough to kill 2 people in cold blood, and kidnap their child... but then grows a conscience and "can't" kill her? If that's the case, they could just let her go and drive away. This killer/kidnapper with a heart is a new one to me. Has that ever happened before?

Ive often wondered if they took her to throw cops off to make it look like its something its not. One of the biggest immediate and popular speculations was that she met someone online. Seems like a common possibility, it has happened in past cases, so if LE spent time on that scenario, or sex trafficking, or whatever, then they had time to regain composure and mix right back into routine. Im not totally sold on this theory, but its something Ive considered.

Very possible, since they had to flee. Unfortunately, they might think of her as a liability after getting away...if that were the case.

That is a good thought. I wonder about it myself, but do have some hesitancy.

Firstly, we don’t know have any idea of the age range of the intruder, or any prior relationship with any of the family members.

Secondly, we don’t know why this off the road house was targeted with such an explosion of fire arms.

Lastly, if this theory works, it means the killer had a reasons he/she would be caught soon, and would need a bartering tool when caught. It is plausible.

My thoughts tend to lead to the target (Jayme) was caught, the suspect(s) got the h out of dodge just in time, and fled without being caught. That theory involves so much luck though, it is off putting to even type it.

My fear is Jayme was targeted, her family taken out, and off they go to do this to another target.

Hope I am wrong, but that is one thing I think about.

I think when LE made the statement about the cars it was to the effect of cctv from around the county, not the city, not the road, the county. maybe something has their attention on a exact car and they are working backward from that car. not exactly seeking it.

We also can't rule out a woman. Basically anyone capable of handling a gun and firing it more than once is a suspect since we have no information to go on.

If taking Jayme wasn't the intent then the only way I see her leaving alive was if there was a woman present who just couldn't bear to kill a child or see one killed.

This is exactly what I think. IMO, they could know exactly who drives them. But, when it comes time to prosecute a defense attorney will be unable to say investigators had tunnel vision and never looked at other cars of the same make and model, IMOO. Just speculation This is what I desperately hope.

the whole crime looks to me like was done by someone that had nothing left to loose or at least felt that way. what if for whatever reason she wasn't taken to be a child bride or how ever to tactfuly say that, but more like someone that just wanted a child, either couldn't have a child or had lost a child and wanted, felt they needed a replacement?

But when they do that they go after babies or toddlers not 13 year olds. The part about nothing left to lose might be a good possibility.

I agree typical it is a infant, but what if they had lost a child that was near her age, maybe even near her appearance.

I just prefer to look at a why she could still be alive.

Rare. Shasta Groene and Hannah Anderson; and technically, he didn't let Hannah go. Cops shot him and rescued her.

Everyone wants her to be alive. We should not even have to say so. But no explanation that would have her alive now makes sense to me unless she was the reason/motive for the crime. What on earth does a perp do with a teen once they removed them from the crime scene?

Or, Jayme scratched the perp and would have DNA under her nails, or the perp left DNA on Jayme via some other unspeakable act, or any other reason why the perp had to take her away from the crime scene that was about to get taken over by investigators. She couldn’t be left there, dead or alive. And we don’t know if she was taken dead or alive.
