Yes, it is hard to figure. Most people have cell phones these days, and don’t rely on a landline phone and that the 911 responder had a landline number to call is what is confounding to me. Thinking...

Not that shocking. You can reverse search names and get old phone numbers and addresses reasonably easily, even if you’re not LE. It’s possible an old landline number is what came up when 911 searched the name on the phone’s voicemail (DC).

Slightly OT: Every time someone calls the turkey company "the plant" I momentarily check to see if they are talking about an undercover agent sent to deceive people or a green leafy thing grown in a garden. There has been so much talk of CI's and drug busts on this thread I guess either topic is technically possible. I realize they usually mean "that big industrial place where they process the turkeys" but my mind doesn't go there first for some reason.

People around here (greater Boston) sometimes behave like that when they think the criminal is in LE or being protected by LE. Also when they think LE can't protect them from the killer, like when nobody would report Whitey Bulger's gang. And then that attitude seems to kind of grow and spread, so pretty soon even minor crimes don't get reported.

I hope nothing like that is going on here.

I am sure that happens in a few places but can't imagine that getting past the FBI.

If a person does have knowledge about a double murderer...having the knowing is as dangerous as providing it to LE imo. If the killer would know who the info came from, that person is already on thin ice, imo. Better to report it and not leave the LE building without protection.

Possible, but the thing that stopped me from believing that was apparently the canine lost scent at the driveway, so I tend to think they were in an enclosed vehicle.

I haven't heard this. But it would indicate she left in a vehicle. Do you have the link please?

That is why I would turn him in...to protect myself. Well I hope I would anyway, but it would be an incentive. I would ask LE to hold me in jail until he was locked up lol.

Just some info I found.
This video shows the side of the Closs house with the sliding doors. The warrant for Kyle Jenke-Annis states Jayme's room was to the right of this entrance. I took these stills from the video...they aren't the best but.

I agree! I have the highest regard for LE, and typically maintain that they have good reasons for how they proceed with a case. But my faith is waning with this one. Specifically, they are failing Jayme, her parents and this community by not

• Establishing-or widely publicizing-a means for people to submit anonymous tips- like CrimeStoppers.
• Holding press conferences more often that include family members to keep the presence of an investigation active
• Using media more effectively to keep the pressure on

Somebody somewhere knows something. The ability to submit a tip anonymously is critical. This community is too quiet. Something’s off... MOO.

I agree! Not a whisper from the community that I've heard of. Most unusual, even if the sheriff told them not to talk to media. Usually someone does anonymously, although we have heard from the neighbours a bit. I also don't think the sheriff should have confidently said they would find Jayme, when obviously that isn't always a surety.

I'm not sure what they are asking either but I do know that Hwy 8 is also called 13 1/2 Avenue. It is very confusing.

Some "gang"members could have been employed at Jennie O and she could possibly have visited her parents there. Or I know when I was her age, it was exciting to hang out at the local shops or walk around town . It' s not out of the ordinary for other kids( even gangs)who drive to cruise around town and look to hangout or talk to other kids.

We were talking about some sophisticated cartel and people think they hang out or work at a turkey plant?

Regular gang bangers aren't typically employed in legitimate jobs anyhow and they don't conduct home invasions of people so they can kidnap their daughter.

Name me one case in the US like this involving regular gang bangers or cartel members murdering and kidnapping people from middle class, Caucasian families.

I've never mentioned anything about gangs or cartel members. I don't think they had anything to do with this case. However if someone at the father's workplace had a beef with him and knew that he had a daughter at home, it could have been a vendetta carried out.

Shipping industry. Two biggest employers in town were Jenny-O and the casino. First places they went to look.

I'm sorry but cartel members don't work at turkey factories. They may hang around casinos but that's by what the conversation was about.

What is all this about anyhow? Is there a big drug cartel business in Barron Wisconsin?

This is really fantastical stuff and none of it is based in any reality I'm aware of. Can someone cite to the presence of drug cartel gangs in or around Barron WI?

Unfortunately I dont immediately see factual backup for the scent being lost. There are, however, articles and video supporting the dogs being brought in and there was a lot of discussion about it at various times. The scent could very well have been speculation discussed that I believed had been proven, because I know that conversation here is what drew me away from thinking they could have somehow escaped through the woods.

Most likely that's the case, and I see no reason to believe Barron LE is anything but honest and competent. You might want to google Whitey Bulger and the Winter Hill Gang for information about FBI behavior though
