Or athletes are athletes, rain, snow etc.. get in the zone and go.Maybe they train indoors in the winter? Seems like the snow and cold would be too much otherwise.

When I first started dating my husband, I was surprised to see that every time he left his vehicle he actually popped out the whole entertainment system (the front popped off and it wouldn't work without that part). I attended college in one of the biggest cities in the country so it wasn't like I'd always lived in a small town, but I'd never seen that before. When my mother-in-law came to visit, she was shocked to see that we never locked our cars here. (In the bigger towns, sure. In my town, no.) In 40 years my car has been broken into one time and the only thing that went missing was some Halloween candy, ha ha.
I mean, most everyone in my area has some kind of firearm at home (it takes local LE almost 30 minutes to reach us and that's only if they're in town) so breaking in on anyone would be risking it. We're not THAT lackadaisical about our safety.
I do know people who automatically grab their guns or at least put them nearby when they get a knock on their door late at night (like, after midnight). I would really like to know, as someone else said, whether there were any guns in the Closs home and if James or Denise had gunshot residue on them. If he had his on him, then I would go with the idea that he wasn't expecting anyone or was at least being cautious. If he had a gun but didn't have it on him, though, then that might make me wonder whether he knew the person or was expecting them. Earlier, someone wondered if perhaps the perp was visiting them for some reason and then grew angry, went back out to his vehicle, and grabbed his weapon with James locking the door behind him.
Yes and nationally. All sports in the US run on very similar schedules. (Swimming/football/soccer/baseball)In Wisconsin?

That right there tells me more than likely nobody else was in the home at that time or her sister probably would have known. So, imo nobody was there at that time other than the family. What transpired after that? Because of the timeline given us by LE of looking for the cars to be seen in the area (12:30-1:30 a.m.) I believe LE knows the chaos didn't begin until at least a little after 12:30.Except that her sister spoke with her that night at 8:30.
What concerns me about those vehicles, is that there are numerous cases where police have been looking for the wrong vehicle. That right there tells me more than likely nobody else was in the home at that time or her sister probably would have known. That Challenger needs to be found.
No, cases where both parents murdered and child was abducted are exceedingly rare!I have to differ with you re killers and pedophiles. There are many many many examples of this on WS. Too sickeningly many.

Incredibly rare. That’s one reason why this case is getting so much attention. No, cases where both parents murdered and child was abducted are exceedingly rare!
I do not recall my kids ever training indoors for events. Their teams trained in rain/snow and sleet. (No lightening though)
But here’s a link to the USATF XC Championship my daughter raced in December 2005 in Rhode Island - “ blizzard-like conditions that rocked the northeast” ...”at the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships held at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island”
Hence training in almost all conditions... blizzard

The 2 reasons that come to mind:if it is a sudden ambush why aren't dad and mom just shot in their bed or near their bed? why would someone come in like it seems, fast and LOUD, why not just quiet and precise?
I get hung up at different points each time I try to reason this whole thing out. today I am hung up at the front door, that is where it seems the first violent contact was made I cant move on from there without understanding at least some part of it.
Okay this is a total mom brag. My daughter was individual state champ x 2. She medaled nationally. And my sons team was state champs.Y'all are hardcore then. We must be wimps!
How long is the cross country season?
The runners go by quickly. It would have to be someone is a stationary position who can watch them. Someone at a home . At a window, they would only have a short vision as they passed. Someone in a car would not see enough as they ran by.
REVISED/CORRECTED REPORT:Update info from the link:
On a Sunday nearly one month ago, Jennifer Smith held a birthday party for her grandson at her Barron, Wisconsin home. Jennifer’s sister Denise Closs, who lived just a couple of miles away, came to the party with her husband Jim and their 13-year-old daughter, Jayme.
Moo, IF there as any 19 year old boy, he is not a boyfriend. Could be a crush one direction or the other, a relative of a family friend or bother of Jayme’s friend, a guy at church, a random guy who works somewhere they frequented (grocery store, restaurant). Idk why, but I think she may have thought he was cute, blushed in his presence, been nervous, but in a very innocent way. He likely wasn’t even aware of it but her friends or parents may have noticed. I think this is why the no comment, there’s no “boyfriend” but there could be a 19 year old who has been looked at and probably is not involved.
