I'm a WI native but not in the same region of the great state. This hits close to home as I grew up in a rural area about the same size as Barron, and can't imagine this happening.
JMO but I have to wonder if she left on her own ability (not drug out against her will.) I think she is a victim but feel she must have known the person she was going with, as to have moved quickly enough not to be seen, not have yelled or caused more of a scene out of the house. I think she's alive, but being held against her will. I'm so very hopeful that the current search will bring some clues.

Does anyone know stats of crimes like this? Where parents are killed and child is missing? Curious on the outcomes of those crimes. Maybe looking from a macro level will give more insight

14 miles seems like an exact number. Why not just say we are searching permeter etc..

Who throws stuff out in the open where you know someone is going to find it? Stupid people? Sorry but geez.
IMOO, there are two possible scenarios:
a) someone is trying to confuse/delay/throw LE off the trail by chucking stuff out in the open and making a false trail.
b) this was a disorganized, higgledy-piggledy crime and the perps are inexperienced.

Several mentioned throughout earlier posts. Shasta Groene, Hannah A., possibly the Shorts in VA, right off the top of my head.

I don't know the stats. I hope someone can come up with that. I am on my way out with no time to look into it.

Young.

Not sure who's there but the traffic's heavier than normal there. Same with in front of the house (for obvious reasons)
Probably rubber-neckers.

B.

This guy apparently made entry with force, drew attention by firing what must have been a high powered weapon (shotgun possibly), and may have escaped by the skin of his teeth.

This may have been targeted and premeditated, but he took a great amount of risk, even factoring in that this was a rural area.

I sure hope the bad guys/gals are not getting a kick out of this search, and are actually worried to the next level that LE is getting closer.

I am soooooo going to use the term "higgledy-piggledy" in the future!!:D

IF they are getting closer. I surely hope so.

Yah, I'm leaning towards B too. And a little voice inside my head is wondering if it WAS an accidental crime, i.e. whoever it was got the wrong house and panicked. Panickers are dangerous and it makes me worry more about JC.

I'm not sure about this.

I'm checking out the traffic activity on HWY 8. I feel like they have something on HWY 8 and 9th, to the west of Poskin. They've been there for quite a bit.
I was wondering if any roads are closed to traffic at this time.
Moo

The casino in Turtle lake (St Croix) is tribal, obviously it’s going to sit on tribal land. From what I can see via Google Maps right now tho the St Croix Chippewa tribal lands look to be about 50 miles north around Big Sand Lake. Does anyone else see any other tribal property around Turtle Lake?
Very long and detailed document. Start around page 78/79
And you can see the tribal areas designated by BIA.
