With all due respect,-when an "extended family" puts themselves in an "interview" situation, then begins deleting the very questions that we ALL want answers to, it leads people to believe they are hiding something.
Not 'ALL'. I avoid a lot of the stuff that creeps into discussions about these cases, and from what I read upthread there were a lot of questions deleted that I couldn't care less about. Same old, same old. Plus, there seemed to be too much asking these extended family members things like 'Why did Lena...' (how the heck would they know all that, anyway?), which were just time-wasters.
I would have liked to hear questions like... When did you last see Aliayah? How many times a week (or month, or year) did you interact with her? Did she seem like a happy child? How would you describe her personality as a 3 year-old? What were her favorite toys and games? And so on.
Also, when they seem to change the "story" around, that also leads to people believe they are stretching the truth.
I didn't see that they changed any significant details. On a few tidbits, my impression is that mountains are being made out of molehills on some really trivial matters.
I agree, they NEED someone to help them-but you can lead a horse to water and you can't make him drink it. Mr. Mark Klass OFFERED to help, the family never responded to him. What more did they want? jmo...
Klaas's name comes up frequently here, and I really don't have any particular knowledge about him or his organization. But from what others have said on WS, my impression is that family has to contact
them, not the other way around. And even then... would a great-aunt or great-uncle meet his criteria for getting involved? I don't know if they only get involved when immediate family requests help.
Anyway, I'm not really talking about any big, nationally-known group helping them. I just mean someone who is internet-savvy and has even basic skills in contacting and using the media. These family members just seem to be clueless about how to go about this.
I hope LE was all over that last nite.
Perhaps they did give it a read, but it doesn't seem that anything that was said (or deleted) was particularly helpful.
