Even if he was not eligible for the benefits...Lena would have had to report his income though to figure out how much she was entitled to, correct?

Yes, his income would be included. He probably wasn't making much more than 8 or 9 dollars an hour at the resort. With a family that big, they would still get food stamps. Heck, some of our local school teachers get food stamps around here.

If not, that would be fraud. :)

I don't think the extended family will be doing any Q & A's tonight.....

But how could she not need the food? She has 5 children.

She didn't feed them? --i am SO mad right now, I am seeing red. She made her living off of her kids-and they didn't even get to eat. :(

Buy cheap processed foods. Older kids eat breakfast & lunch at school. Wic for any child under 5. Food banks for other foods.

It's not hard to do but those kids had to be really hungry! And not getting what they needed to grow. I'm positive that is why the kids were removed by CPS. She wasn't feeding them properly. I didn't think that was why when they said one count. I figured she was desperate after RL quit working, but now....I know this is one of the reasons that kids are removed. She sold most of what she was probably eligable for the month.CPS would have no choice but to remove them as soon as they were made aware the situation.

She's in a whole lot of trouble for someone that wasn't collecting welfare benefits:innocent:

:waitasec:is that what she'll have to payback? $10 a year?

On each of those charges, she got $50.00 in cash. Each charge is 5 years.
So she "traded" 1 year of her life for $10.00 in cash or $20.00 in food stamps

Something tells me Vickie's phone will be ringing off the hook. IF people didn't like that family before...I can only imagine what people will say!

I can't believe the newspaper actually put her phone number in the article.

I'm not doing it! lol, I would not do well in jail!

My dentist told me that vicodin is going for 10 a pill around here. He used to work at the local jail and learned all kinds of things that I didn't know. He talks alot while he's working on my teeth!

I wonder if LE does this stuff on purpose because they KNOW she was involved in the "disappearance" of her daughter yet can't prove it.
Similar to the Haleigh Cummings case. Misty got like 50 years just for selling pills?
I hope so.....

Thats what I would like to know!! She let her kids go hungry-so her needs were met. Makes me SO angry. Well I hope they make an example of her. Twenty five years plus in a federal penitentiary when you "might have" harmed a child -would be TOUGH for her.

Not necessarily letting the kids go hungry guys. LL did not have a job and as far as I know she does not collect SSI so there is no income for her. Fifteen years ago, when my husband left, I had 5 children and I qualified for $473.00 check and $578.00 food stamps. Imagine what it is now. The children are all small and don't eat that much. I wouldn't doubt that she received close to $1000 a month.

Don't forget Lena also has a husband who had a job. He was bringing an income of cash into the home.
We know the one boy was at visitation with dad, so there should be child support there.
The food stamps should have been used for.....food. The kids may not have been going hungry per say....but they could have been eating a lot healthier meals with the extra money I'm sure.
