Am I the only one that is seeing the recent actions of LL's Aunt, only as attempting to cover her butt for failure to act sooner?

I wouldn't put it that way. But I do think that they probably do feel a lot of guilt. Guilt for not knowing that Aliayah was in danger, guilt that they didn't do something to prevent it. Wouldn't that be a normal reaction from any family member in their situation? I'm betting that it was Aliayah's grandmother that they have been getting their information from.

Aunt Vicki has posted an explanation of what she found out today from the FBI.
never was a gag order on anyone.....including Lena
FBI/LE never confiscated any newer photos of Aliayah

I don't think the family is too happy with Lena right now IMO

This is a good example of why it's so hard for family members to use the case discussion & opinion forum. That is why there is another folder for family. We ask hard questions and yes, I'm sure it hurts their feelings. But the goal is to find the missing person. It's because of forum members who kept pushing that they found out they were being lied to in the first place.

We seem to have ruffled a lot of feathers because of forum member's participation in that Q&A!

Take away gag orders and confiscated photos and that leaves us with what?

I, for one, will continue to pay close attention to what everyone in the extended family has to say. Not because of who they are, but because of what they are saying. They have announced that they have not been in contact with Lena....so someone else has been telling them the things that they want said. And so far they have all been lies. Do I blame the extended family? No...they are only repeating what they have been told to say. But someone behind the scenes has been trying to steer this investigation a certain way and I have to question why? And if family is KNOWINGLY helping to steer an investigation a certain way I have to wonder why about that also.
Is family reputation more important then this little girl being found?

I feel SO badly...I saw Aliayah's aunt "Tina" (i believe was her name) --and she was crying ---she said-we just want her HOME.....

and it HIT ME----WHAT will happen to Aliayah when she is found? Her parents aren't bothering to look for her? Her grandma is too upset to search? LE will NOT give this little one back to them....WHERE would she go? (this is SO SO sad)

Can you direct me to the forum you are discussing? And what kinds of questions were deleted and why? Now that this family know there is no gag order, are they going to answer all our questions?

They also told us why they are being so tight lipped about the suspects in this investigation. "We have to collect evidence. We have to bring enough evidence to convict somebody of a crime beyond reasonable doubt" said Special Agent Jeff Killeen. "If we would divulge that kind of information prematurely, that may jeopardize a criminal case. I apologize that we cannot be more fourth coming with the facts that we have, but nonetheless we've made considerable progress thus far."

Honestly, I still wouldn't believe any of them as far as I could throw them.. they're all either very ill informed, very gullible, mentally challenged or VERY guilty. Her admitting she was "misled" doesn't cut it with me. This has opened a can of worms and a hole in the case big enough to drive a truck through!! Why would a mother LIE about not being able to share information about her daughter's disappearance. This entire family has lied from the beginning.. not listening to any of it anymore.
I just want justice for Aliayah...

You're absolutely right !! Aliayah deserves justice! This feels like a game that is played alot in that area-!! Its not a good game-and should NOT be played when a childs life is at stake. This has to be ONE of the worst cases I have ever followed. Ever.

IMO....this whole extended family inserted themselves into this investigation without giving it any thought.....looking for attention on facebook turned out to be wayyyy more than they bargained for.
sorry if that seems harsh....but it all started over a few "I'm related to Aliayah" posts.
