GUILTY WY - Jesse Speer for kidnap, rape of 10yo girl, Cody, 8 Oct 2012

They have released his name

Jesse Paul Speer

I believe LE/FBI has not officially released it yet. I'm pretty sure that his name was found out by people looking at the arrest record on the counties website and MSM then printed the name.

Which adds to my curiosity of why they have not officially released it yet since its already known by the media and public at this point.

IMO there is a big difference between JR's murder and this young girls case. Usually perps will escalate their crimes. I just can't tie the way JR was found to this case. I would think LE would greatly announce they may have found JR's killer. to put the general public at ease.

BILLINGS- The FBI has confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection to the abduction and sexual assault in Cody, Wyoming.

While federal officials will not release more information until a press conference slated for Monday, sources tell us the man was arrested Saturday night in Belgrade.

The Gallatin County Detention Center does not release booking photographs of inmates, but the possible suspect Jesse Paul Speer, 40, is in custody on a $2 million bond, and is the only inmate being held for law enforcement officials from the state of Wyoming.

MTN affiliate KTVQ in Billings reports Speer owns a photography studio based out of Bozeman, adding that recent pictures from Speer show he was in Wyoming at the time of the abduction

I saw it last night on the Sherriffs FB I think. I'll try to find it, I was on my laptop. I understand what your saying.

Was this little girl at the library alone?

Was this little girl at the library alone?

I don't think she was with an adult, but she did have two friends with her, and they alerted the police about 45 minutes after she got into the vehicle and was driven away.

Hope it is ok to post this

It's probably not. Family and friends are off limits. I'd remove it.

ETA: I see that the mods have given her statement the green light.

Based on her words, it seems that he may have had an abrupt change of personality recently.

We are allowing it for now, but that can change if the need warrants.

Please take special heed of her request for privacy of their family. If anyone dishonors that request, the link and discussion of the posts will be forbidden. It's up to you guys. Post responsibly.

I thought I might be ok because she is addressing the public? IDK

That's why I decided to allow it. Again, focus on the accused, not the family. Just like she said in the blog, she and everyone else she knows are all devastated. It just goes to show how this evil is like an unknown cancer in our society and it is important to realize it in order to figure out how to stop it.

Just goes to show you that crime has a horrible ripple affect, where it reaches out and ruins a lot of lives. I feel bad for everyone involved. The kidnap victim is going to be an amazing woman someday, and I am very proud of her.

Bless her heart... and bless those babies. I simply cannot imagine how my life would change, or how I would feel if the father of my children was implicated in something like this. A pure nightmare. They are victims of Jesse Speer, as well. I pray they all receive peace and healing.

My apologies. I didn't actually click the link, as I'd found her blog before and that was not posted at that time. I thought you were just linking her blog, and didn't want you to get in trouble. I should have clicked the link and I would have seen that she had issued a public statement.

And what's causing it? Why do innocent babies who were sweet gradeschoolers and nice guys think they can give vent to this dark side?
