dudley shoals rd-burns rd, that creek is only approx. 3 miles from the lake. normally creeks this close to catawba river lakes back up during heavy rainfall. due to the smaller area of drainage for this creek and just eyeballing the main-channel readings probably 2 ft of water during those f2 storms 2 weeks back. you have all the water coming in from all creeks in the entire lake so the water backs up into the slower flowing ones. all this is imho but i've lived on or near lake wateree or lake wylie most of my life, both are catawba river lakes.

Most times LE is kind of closed ranks. They will follow their tips and leads, and map off areas they feel should be searched. I honestly do not believe that they willl use their resources searching areas suggested by the general public. I have never known them to do that in all the years my late husband was in LE, and he retired after 21 years of service.

I respect the work on the maps and am very interested in seeing the maps that have been posted. Today has sort of been showing maps of where LE is searching, and I think that is great.

It really depends on where and who you are talking about. Big departments have all kinds of resources, smaller ones not so much. Just my experiences from working SAR for 15 plus years.

can't even recall his name off top of my head. With his name and with EB's arrest record, coupled with knowing the approx date EB AB and Z got here we could certainly figure it out.

Was this the address?

1507 21st St NE

Hickory, NC

ETA oops first try was incorrect

Here's what I'm thinking...if this were a house EB grew up in, she'd know the area VERY well. I have addresses, but I don't know if any of these addresses belonged to her father. If we're missing a pattern, perhaps it's because we're missing a crucial address. Make sense?

I agree, EB has spent most of her life moving around the state of NC. Much of it appears to be in a relatively small area of it. So knowing where she spent big chunks of her childhood, particularly teen years would offer insight into possible areas of search.

ty for all the local perspectives we've been getting, before the forum formed and particularly on this thread. you guys are instrumental in helping us know the lay of the land (or waterways as it were today)

Thanks for that information. Question though - Courtner is the head guy for Caldwell County Emergency Management - would you suspect he would also be well aware of that ?

I'm curious here. There had been a long dry summer. Then some rain in that area before this happened. Wouldn't that make the creek bottom soft and spongy? Almost having a suction type effect?

I'm waiting to hear the latest results of today's search but your comment triggered a memory if correct. I don't follow the Caylee case but read some earlier reports. I thought it was mentioned Caylee was found around an area where the children in the neighborhood used to bury pets n stuff, or nearby.

I do hope today's search brings answers to the Zahra case.

waiting for confirmed address before I go stumbling around anym ore on the EB father addy. They lived with him for six months or so, right after arriving from Aus.
