Easy now, everyone... this is a very emotional case and everyone is working very hard and is very frustrated and is bearing the pain that we are all aware this child likely suffered.
sarx, if you don't mind me answering for you- I would like to say this- I do not think that was the intent of sarx's post whatsoever. The intent I believe was to remind all posters and readers that LE does read here, and at times it is easier when threads stay on topic so that they can easily surf for info they might find useful. For example, a LEO of one type (say computer forensics) might take a quick look at a computer forensics thread. A forensic anthropologist might take a quick look at a cold case thread.
A SAR member may take a quick look at a thread geared toward the MP case they are working. An FBI agent new to a local area might quickly look for info from locals. KWIM?
I do not believe any ill intent was meant. Any and all are welcome- it is just infinitely more effective when threads stay on topic as presented by the thread-starter.

Thanks all,
Oriah

Yeah, what she said!

Fine by me. Was just trying to clarify how helpful WS's can be for people working in the field.

I know you were. :) I totally understand that...and your points were great! I was referring only to the first paragraph -- I don't think it's something we need to bother Tricia with (having people mail her to ask if it's true that LE reads here), although I've no doubt she'd graciously answer each and every query she received.

Didn't want you to think I took any issue with your excellent explanation of why WS is such a great resource.

I am betting Indian Grave Gap was a tip and it was a false lead as they said they found nothing there. (please don't make me find the link again! LOL)

It happens, alot......

I think there's something we're missing too. Why go up to Christie? Dudley Shoals/Burns I can understand, she used to live there. Fits the pattern. Christie doesn't. So why there? And why would SAR go to Indian Grave? Had to be a reason other than someone saying, "Hey, here's a deserted road!". LE wouldn't have spent man hours on some random hunch, I wouldn't think. Assuming, of course, EB/AB isn't just feeeding them a load of crap.

:waitasec:

Re: the Indian Grave search- I still feel like it was perhaps a combo of a bad tip as well as the straight shot up 321. But heck, we're all :waitasec: at this point!

Ok, so it appears that they have found "something" along the bank of the Upper Little River near the intersection of Dudley Shoals Rd. and Burns Road.
We also know that the prosthetic and a bone (unconfirmed if it is connected to Zahra's case so far) were found near the side of the road on Christie Road.
Were there confirmations on where else Elisa Took them?

What are some of the possible routes from Hickory that would include these places?

I am thinking that there might be more out there as it certainly seems to be "scattered" along a route, just not sure what route yet!

She's still up on NCMEC, so she's still not been found.

Starting point, google drawn route from Christy to Dudley/Burns.

Christytodudely.jpg

1.Head northeast on Christy Rd toward Ekard Pl 1.5 mi
2.Slight left at Deal Mill Rd 0.2 mi
3.Slight right at Temple Hill Church Rd 0.3 mi
4.Continue onto E Caldwell St/Temple Hill Ch Rd
Continue to follow Temple Hill Ch Rd2.1 mi
5. Turn right at Burns Rd 1.2 mi
6.Turn right at Dudley Shoals Rd

"Burns Site"
Dudley Shoals Rd

5.2 miles, about 10 mins.

Yep or up Burns to Deal Mill and then over.
And how did they get up there from Hickory?

I am now wondering if the boat oars would only serve the purpose if they are looking for clothing, bedding, something of more substantial size but not weight. I am trying to think why a boat oar is the best tool for the job for what they are looking for. They are using boat oars for a specific reason - I would assume. Any thoughts?

The only thing of any size I can think they would be trying to find would be the skull..the oar could maybe stir it up. :(

Thank you LCoastmom, frre2ride, paulette & Kamille. Kamille, do you have those addresses for her mom? She was close to her mom, she said.

Here is someone's map that has some addresses for her -- EB -- that I hadn't seen mapped earlier.

I'll put together the arrest record addresses I've seen in date order! Y'all let me know if that's already common knowledge. I could do something else :)

eta: a link would be nice ;)

Sorry but I don't have addresses, you have to pay to receive them, but I checked a more reliable site and this is what I got for the two parents...

Her mother

http://www.ussearch.com/consumer/people-search/names/nc+hickory/sylvia/fairchild.html

Her father

http://www.ussearch.com/consumer/pe...te+falls/marshall/fairchild/000772250849.html

Her father's present address in Hickory is listed separately for some reason

http://www.ussearch.com/consumer/people-search/names/hickory+nc/marshall/fairchild.html

So based on that, I'd say she grew up in Granite Falls with her parents. She likely didn't start moving around from there until her second marriage to JA who has lived in Gastonia and is presently in Kings Mountain. I think she had a couple of addresses in those areas on her records.

If I had to guess, I'd say she/they drove up 321 from Hickory to the Granite Falls area and headed east along Dudley Shoals Rd. If evidence is found at the Burns Rd area where they are right now, I'd say that was the first stop. From there she/they may have headed across Burns Rd back towards 321 and wound around some of the roads, including Christie, until she/they were back at 321.

This does appear to be EB's familiar area, not AB's. If he was involved in the disposal, IMO she was right there with him leading the way. IMO, she knows exactly where all the evidence was dropped.

Slightly off topic but not really.
Does anyone have a good tutorial on how to mark up google earth and google maps and for that any other mapping software you might use? I am thinking that if we could get that together we might be able to get the mods to make it a sticky as it is an invaluable tool to have in ones handbag. And I know at least a few people would have used it over the last few weeks. :-)

 STILL don't know how to change the color or shape of the pushpin/markers!

Okay, Sarx and Oriah...I bow to your experience. I'll leave Indian Grave out of my pattern thoughts (for now).

Do you guys think the common factor here could be 4010 Phillip Lane. Mission Rd. is the road you'd take from there to Hickory Blvd. Right there at the intersection of Mission and Hickory, you're dead between Lower Cedar Rd. and Dudley Shoals Rd. Could take Lower Cedar to Pine Mountain to Deal Mill to Little River to Dudley/Burns intersection. From there, just follow Dudley Shoals (fowler rd) straight back to Hickory Blvd.

Let's also just assume for a moment the neighbors were right about EB/AB acting suspicious in 4010 Phillip Lane area. If they dumped something there too (but we just haven't found it), this route is dead on!

Thinking out loud here: You'd leave 21st NW Ave., swing down to Phillip Lane, come back via Mission Rd. turn Left, turn Right on Lower Cedar, Pine Mountain to Christie, follow the loop up to burns, come back Dudley and that puts you back on Hickory closer to home.

Damn. That actually makes sense.

Editted: because I had my lefts and right backwards. It's now fixed.
