Just a personal story, totally OT, and not pointing fingers. When my son was that age - and older - he was apt to try to get into the family booze. We didn't have drugs in the house, but, if we had, I'm sure he'd have experimented with them, too, with possibly tragic results.

Quite possible. IF the kid was asked. Do you have a link to the question and answer?

Trying to get caught up, but I can't quite make it, so forgive me if this has been said. Kids confuse days. Adults confuse days. I have no idea what day this is. ~g~ But it was snowing that Friday morning. Possibly the first snow of the year. That made it special, and J should know if he...

Perhaps the home where the backpack was originally located was in an area being searched until Saturday evening, and the perp couldn't just walk out with it 'til after everyone left. Perhaps Jessica never was wearing those clothes on Friday.

We're assuming that the dogs tracked a scent going INTO the woods. What if the bikes/purse were coming out of the woods? This is in no way scientific, but when my dog got older, and a little senile, he would, sometimes, try to track my son by going in the direction Jason had come from. It was...

If we assume that 2 other people rode the bikes to the lake, is it possible that their shoes picked up the girls' "shoe scent" from the pedals, and they left that scent around the lake?

Are we absolutely sure there was only one set of bikes? Could the cyclist have seen bikes dropped by other children (who might have just raced into the bushes to pee, and returned to claim them moments later)? And, if the perp, lying in wait, witnessed this, might he not have positioned the...

I see no problem with LE finding the bikes leaning against the fence. If the first gentleman had to swerve to avoid them, there were several hours for a Samaritan to wander by, notice a dangerous situation, and correct it. Now, if that person would come forward.....

About the discrepancy in times between what the neighbor's camera showed, and what the sister said - If the neighbor had neglected to change the camera from Daylight Savings Time to Eastern Standard, all the pieces would fall, nicely, into place. MOO
